Car description

Greetings. you are bidding on a 1969 mustang GT 428 super cobra jet project. Now let me get this out of the way first thing. Please don’t email me asking to close the auction early. buy a certain part. or what my reserve is. You will be ignored. It’s an auction and if it breaks the reserve then the highest bidder will win the entire car with parts…. I have owned this mustang since the late ninety’s in hopes of doing a restoration. It was drag raced and has low miles on the odometer. I have located and purchase just about everything to put it back to original but. I’ve realize it’s just too big a project for me. So here is a chance for someone to finish this car and have fun with it or flip it for a ton of money once finished. I will try and list what is there and what is not there. Please email me questions and I will reply the next day to you! The car has the numbers matching block. The CJ auto trans is gone. Prior owner had a built C6 he was using which is included. Also the 391 N case pumpkin is gone. He switched that out for a posi with 456 gears I have been told. I had a local machine shop owned by Don Woodard. the main ford man here in Phoenix bore the block 030 over. grind the crank 010 x 010. new pistons. rings. bearings. performance oil pump. double cam chain. new cam bearings. and balance the engine. The pictures of the engine prior to putting the heads on and pan show the IU crank and cj rods. The heads and pan are now on the engine and the winner may pull them if he wishes to inspect. I have no problem with that. A local speed shop did the new valves and hardened seats. And of coarse I have all the receipts showing the costs. I purchased a new date correct smog system for the engine and new oil cooler system both from Semo. The scj cam and rods were mag inspected and re-used. I have cobra jet valve covers. correct pulleys. cj intake. the correct auto cj holley carb. distributer. both cj exhaust but one was weld repaired and needs addition machine work before use. engine lift hooks. new lifters. roller rockers. engine bolt kit from AMK. complete shaker with cobra jet emblems minus the vacuum motor and the lower section is wrong. its from a 390. nbsp;cj cast iron c6 tail shaft and a cj tran modulator if you want to build a imitation cj c6. The car has a gt interior with the factory tach dash. no a/c. no console. drum brakes. original color is candy apple red black gt interior. The car body is nice shape. The only big issue is the prior owner just welded on quarter panel skins right over the old panels. So the rust issue around the wheel wells was not addressed just cover up. I bought a totaled mach 1 out of Texas just for the donor rear quarters that have the wheel wells in them with the truck drop off panels. Those go with the car. The front radiator support and the front two aprons were replaced. As a drag car he had an aluminum radiator and the short of the story. way to many unwanted drill holes in those pieces. They were replaced. There are a few holes in the front torque boxes but I believe the frame box part is good. It’s just on the side bottom side that shows some rust issue (street side) . Also the floors have had front patch panels spotted in (done by the prior owner) with some rust holes here and there. The rear frame rails are in great shape. The left rear fender well and truck drop off has been removed in order to inspect the rear frame rail. Rail is in great shape. No rust in the upper firewall area (wiper motor area). no rust around any of the window areas and no rust around the roof drip rail areas! Engine bay is in great shape with no cracks in the towers. All I’ve done to the body was to have the entire shell media blasted and then sprayed with self etching primer. That was done over 15 years ago. and some surface rust has now shown up. No big deal. The windshield vin tag and the door tag were removed prior to media blasting. I have both and yes they match the shock towers and the title! Here is a list of items purchased. front floor boards. full floor boards. under the rear seat area sheet metal. trunk drop offs. inner and outer wheel wells. trunk lid. door skins. (The door frames are in nice condition also including the doors off the mach 1 purchased in Texas) a new dash pad non A/C. new door panels. new carpet underlay. new carpet. new headliner. new scj fan. new snorkel. new heat shield. new drag pack horn set. includes four used gt wheels. trim rings. and caps. Used items include are both front fenders in great shape. the hood which had a rust issue on the nose of the hood. hood and truck hinges. all the wiring harness. dash wiring is all intact. shaker hood ring. grille with all of the moldings. GT gas cap. head light tail lights and their buckets. ford rear window louvers. ford rear wing. a truck lid already drilled for the wing. front and rear valance’s. all of the glass. all of the trim moldings plus the moldings from the mach 1. rear traction bars that are on the car now. also the tie down plates are present. complete gt seats in decent shape. compete dash. heater. wipers. auto shifter. steering wheel is cracked as usual. I bagged and tagged all the bolts to the doors. all the doors have the complete window mechanisms. basically everything that was taken off of the car I still have. just to much to list every little detail here. Here is what is missing that I can think of: The exhaust system (he was using headers). the radiator. bumpers. torque converter. gas tank is out of the car and should be replaced. I’m sure I forgot something so if want to know if this or that is there just email me and I’ll update the listing as we go…. I have years of Mustang Monthly. builder books. and the complete Marti report that goes too. Shows just how rare the car is. Please note. It’s up to the winner to do the shipping end. I can help with regard of putting some of these parts into large boxes but. it’s a TON OF STUFF. You are not going to load all of this into one little pickup truck. It will take a good size U-haul at the minimum! Plus a trailer for the car. The glass is just laying in the front and rear so that will need to be secured down as well. I have an engine hoist to help load the engine…. I will only accept PayPal for the deposit which is due within 3 days of the end of the auction. Balance to be in “cash” at time of pickup. I’m willing to work with you on pickup time table but the 3 day deposit is in stone. Clean clear title in hand……If your local of coarse you can come look at the car! Thank you and good luck!
