1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Coupe. 8 Cylinder Gasoline Engine. 3-Speed Automatic Transmission. RWD. The previous owner rebuilt the 351C engine and added a mild camshaft along with a 4-barrel intake manifold and 750cfm carburetor. I am not sure how many miles are on the engine since the rebuild but the carb needs to be tuned. I am also not sure if it is the original engine. The engine does fire right up and idles great. The transmission was also rebuilt at that time as well and the transmissions shifts firmly and downshifts as it should. The previous owner also repainted the car from its original green to its current red color several years ago. It still looks great but there are some flaws and some rust starting to bubble up from under the paint in some places. I tried to take pictures of those spots to disclose everything up front. Overall it is still a solid car with no major rust, but at some point, some of the floor and possibly a small section of the quarter panel will probably be needed to be replaced when it is restored down the road. Keep in mind this is a 45-year-old car. It is a factory power steering, power front disc brake and air conditioning car. The air conditioning is not working but the entire system is still in place. I have not had time to trouble shoot the problem with it yet. It still has the factory style compressor on it. The previous owner replaced the battery, alternator and power steering pump. I still cannot get the windshield wipers to function despite replacing the wiper motor and switch. There is power to the motor and it may simply be a ground or mis-wiring issue as all the replacement motors do not use the original color-coded wires that match the factory. I have replaced almost all the interior components of the car with new reproduction parts mainly Ford original tooling pieces when I could find them. The original interior was an olive green which I changed to black. The front and rear seats were stripped, frames sanded and painted with new padding and upholstery installed. I upgraded the stereo system, including a new stereo system that is equipped with blue tooth and hands-free capability as well as USB fittings in the glovebox and ashtray in the center console. There is also a subwoofer in the trunk. The factory "idiot"Â style gauges on the left side of the dash have been replaced with a factory looking tachometer by Rocket Man Classic Cougar Innovations. The factory center console gauges have been replaced with aftermarket VDO gauges that I modified to fit in the factory bezel holes. Below is a list of the parts that I have replaced ($6,354.51. The suspension could use new shocks and bushings and rides accordingly. A previous owner put towing shocks on the rear with slapper bars on the rear leaf springs. Again, it is a 45-year-old Mustang, so I would recommend rebuilding the suspension and upgrading some components. Otherwise I have driven this car from Ft Lauderdale to Orlando to car shows and on weekends to cruise around with no problems. The tires are new, but the wheels do show little age. I have polished them several times, but the pictures show the best shines they will achieve with some fade on the black pockets. I have disclosed all issues I know about the car. I am unsure of the actual mileage of the car as was the previous owner. The '73 is my favorite and I had hoped to keep this to restore. However, I need to sell it to raise money to buy a house. So, I am not looking to trade, so please do not ask. There is currently a lien on the vehicle that will have to be satisfied. I can help with delivery of the vehicle if needed within a reasonable distance. This 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is located in Davie, Florida. Please call 1-800-320-9557 and mention listing id: 136069.
