Car description

1970 Ford XL Original Survivor

Vintage NASCAR fastback styling.. Rare colors with original straight body in stunning condition.

Investment Grade Vehicle.. Matching numbers.

This car is officially a distinct model separate from the Galaxie, it is its own sport model - a "Ford XL". Produced for only two years. A fresh, fun and more spacious alternative to a Mustang or Torino. Its performance oriented rebuilt suspension with competition handling package/police interceptor spring rate/sway bar is comfortable yet crisp. This car is no boat - take the turnpike or curve and it grips and rebounds immediately and smoothly.

Local Texas car since new. I am the second owner. Purchased from the son of a military veteran who had passed away. This was his grocery store and church car. Looking for a good owner to take care of his car.

Original paint hiding nothing with nice original patina. Super straight body and undercarriage so clean you can eat off it - proof of a low mileage garage kept original. Some factory paint markings still visible on the undercarriage. The trunk is in great shape, clean intact inner quarter panels, even the cardboard inserts are still there, and the factory stickers on the marker lights. This car is a representative document of the production processes at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant.

Rare beautiful color combination of Gulfstream Aqua (Dark Aqua Metallic) Wimbledon White top, White Parchment Interior. 351W, AT, PS, PDB, AC, AM/FM Stereo with fader, trunk light.

The car also has a rare 140 mph Police Interceptor speedometer and optional heavy duty 13/16" Competition Handling Package front sway bar and heavy duty springs. Original jack equipment still intact in the trunk. Original owners manual and build sheet. (Produced within the August 1969 - February 1970 production window that had the rare two piece heat shield, it is still there and intact).

Original heads completely rebuilt to stock with all new valves, hardened seats, rockers (adjustable rollers), hardened pushrods, lifters, timing gear and chain. Suspension rebuilt with new springs, ball joints, bushings. Rebuilt steering gear box with nos Ford parts, rebuilt brakes, master cylinder, new original style aluminum three core radiator (have the original), nice tires. The hideaway headlights work perfectly and stay down. A great car for cruise nights. (A set of optional Magnum 500 rims will top off its appearance).

What are obvious needs.. AC is intact but needs conversion to R134A. Radio not working. Car needs an interior restoration, seat covers, headliner, dash pad, etc., and the car leaks, oil pan gaskets/seals, etc. It will leave spots on the driveway. There are a few minor imperfections in the front bumper and approximately three small door type dings in the body. Only one rust spot - in the trunk seal rim rail.

SERIOUS ONLY PLEASE. If you have less than ten feedback contact me first. If you have any concerns - ASK QUESTIONS FIRST - if you bid you buy. I am a former SAAC member and Shelby owner. My description is accurate and provable by the Texas DMV - only two titled owners, the original and me - so NO REFUNDS please. Payment by U.S. bank wire transfer - no checks or money orders - cash ok if local. Buyer responsible for transport. Will accommodate your car shipper.
