*Unrestored* 1969 Mustang Mach 1R-code 428 Super Cobra Jet, 4-speedW-code 4.30 Drag Pack
This is an extremely nice unrestored 1969 Mustang Mach1 R-code. This car was purchased new in Union, South Carolina and has remained in the upstate of South Carolina its entire life. This car drives and performs extremely well and with only 39,000 miles it drives like it is new. The Lime Gold paint looks great from adistance but does have some weathered patina from the years of use. The original chrome and trim is much like the paint and looks great from a distance but does show some patina up close. This car is a very solid/honest car, however in the trunk there is a small rust hole in the thin panel just behind gas tank (the rear most panel, the lip of the gas tank rests on). The SCJ 428 is VERY strong (and not for the faint of heart...). In 2014 we decided we wanted to enjoy the car but keep the original look. At that time the motor and trans were rebuilt forreliability(and a little performance) but the exterior of the drivetrain was left with the original patina. The motor went back with the original SCJ 1UA crank and rods, but received file fit rings, hardened valve seats, performance valve springs, a custom grind aggressive cam, 3 angle valve job,and a Ford aluminum PI intake. The original C9AF-9510-M carb was rebuilt as well. The 4-speed was rebuilt and the original shifter was replaced with a Hurst shifter (for betterdrivability). The original W-code 4.30 traction lok is a blast going through the gears. Thebrakes were also gone through and all 4 shocks were replaced. Words can not describe the quality of this car. The interior is still completely original minus the carpet and is very presentable with no tears in the upholstery.
