Car description |
---|
1976 Ford maverick, 2 door. 250 inline six
motor & driveline specs: modified, with comp cam, ported and shaved head (need to run 91) with autolite 2bbl conversion, oil pump, timing chain, etc all done when motor built. 60 psi oil pressure when driving, 18-20 at hot idle.
hei aftermarket distributor
aluminum radiator with 16" fan (keeps water temp at 205~max on hottest sc days)
tri-y header
professionally installed exhaust all the way to the back.
c4 transmission. (shares bolt pattern with 302, so v8 swap is bolt-in)
8" rear end. (also capable of v8 swap)
front and rear addco swaybars
slotted and drilled front discs, new brake hardware as of 4 years ago. (manual)
cragar mags, good radial ta's (probably have 40-50% left on tread). car handles way better than it should.
modified for manual steering.
high rate front springs, car lowered 2" all the way around. new kyb gas adjusts 4 years ago.
floors: solid. Original paint, so no bondo surprises. Only body damage is to passenger door, easy to repair if so inclined. rockers: solid & straight.
new: blower motor, heater core (no wet passenger feet). non ac car. heat will cook you out in the winter. No rattles, window runs re run with new channel strips and body to door seals. new windshield 3 years ago.
new carpet last year, a bit lighter than stock color but from macs automotive, molded for car. dynamat underneath it. New scat racing buckets from summit racing last year, no cutting or hacking of floor to put in. (cutom brackets made to use exisiting holes, drilled 2 inboard ones in 'stock' bucket location)
headliner was gone when i got car. never replaced, but installed closed cell foam in inside skin, nice and quiet.
grill and trim: straight.
also included are 2 as new condition straight bumpers for car. Ones are car are shot. (chrome dead, so i painted them)grant steering wheel. and yes, the horn works as it should.
decent stereo, 6x9 in back, 5" round in front at kickpanel. Nothing stupid.
oil/temp gauges in old ashtray location, (see pics), sun mini tach on steering column.
performance: runs well, about on par with a stock 302 car, maybe a little better. drive-ability is excellent, jetted correctly. (even in heavy traffic)
im sure theres been more done, i just cant remember.
might be due for some valve stem seals. easy to do in car. Its currently registered, clear title, and ready to be driven.
reason for sale: procured a 1966 galaxie, and just don't have room. I drove this car at least once a week for the past 4 years. I just need space and its time to move on to a new project. feel free to ask any questions.
