Car description

This is a rare opportunity to own an all steel 1934 Ford Cabriolet with Southern California hot rod history!
Car wasfound sitting for almost 3 decades in a field in Hemet California. This was an award winning car originally built in the 1970'sby the deceased president of the 33/34 Ford Hot Rod Club of California. The car was then purchased from his estate. According to the family most of its life was spent in Southern California with frequent trips to Mexico. Paint wasoriginally a light blue with a canvas black top and panel pinstriping from front to back (original picture included). Somewhere between the shows and the field the car was spot painted in several areas with red primer and black fenders, and then the elements did the rest. Thankfullythe many coats of paint and the California desert helped to avoid any major rust issues and created a beautiful patina, but naturally there are still spots of rust that will need repair ifyou plan to restore. Zoom in on the pictures to see the bodyclosely but for sitting as long as it did this is a very solid car with great metal! The worst ofthe rust would be in the floor and the lower rockers.
The front seat springs were the only part of the car that could not be saved.Measurementswere taken and a new seat wasprofessionallyupholstered which fits the car perfectly. Also the Superior steering wheel was added sometime in the 70'sand is not a Ford part. Outside of these two things there is not one reproduction fiberglass part or otherwise, every piece of this car is original steel pre-warFord!
Engine is the stock 1934 Ford Flathead V8. Drivers side head and the intake is missing. It's doubtful that this engine can be saved, it's just been sitting open to long.Drivetrain is all stock. There are no working brakes but the E-brake does engage and the car can be put in gear to keep it from rolling. The original key was lost at some point from the locking steering column so the car only steers by hand from the front wheels. Three of the wheels are 1936 Ford 16 inch spokes with one being the 1934 Ford 17 inch. All 4 tires hold air and the car does roll.
All original parts ofthe top remain, and the top does function up and down by hand as it was intended from the factory. I left the decades old sun damaged tuck and roll seat in the rumble lid to pay respect to the history of the car.
My goal was to preserve this car as it was to show history to others that appreciate it like I do. The personalizedmatching pair of blue and yellow California "Cabret" plates will remain on the car, and even the dirt and cobwebs from the years on the field will remain, but at the end of the day I build custom cars and I just can't bring myself to cut into this one or fool with it more than I have. It's a true museum piece in my opinion, but for the right person it could be a great hot rod or even restoration project. I've been in the car world for many years and I'venever seen anything like this. Truly a one of a kind car.
Clean California title in my name. Car is currently stored and located in Wildomar California. I can make myself available for any local buyers to see the car in person before the end of the auction. Buyer arranges and pays for all shipping costs. $500 paypal deposit due within 24 hours of auction end with remainder to be paid within 3 days ofauction end via bank wire transfer or cash in person.
I am happy to work with shippers to getthe car loaded onto a truck or trailer. Also I'm happy to work withInternational buyers as there are docks that transport vehicles oversees no less than an hour and a half from where the car is located. Please look over the pictures closely and ask allquestions before bidding as the car is being sold AS-IS. Please be kind in following through with awinning bid. I want nothing more than to be completely honest in myinterpretation of the car butplease contact me if there is anything left to question. Selling with a fair reserve and a low starting bid.
This truly is an amazing opportunity for a serious early Ford and/or hot rod collector to owna piece of Southern California history!
Thank you and Good Luck!!
