Car description |

1959 Ford Galaxie Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable HardTop Convertible. This is a rare and desirable gem, a true barn(storage garage) find. Acquired from an estate, this vehicle has been sitting in a controlled environment storage facility for the past 30 plus years. Prior to its being decommissioned, the car was driven occasionally by the previous owner in parades, car shows and was a fixture of his personal collection museum.
Originally purchased in Phoenix Arizona at Sanderson Ford and has resided in the state its entire life. Overall condition is excellent considering it is an unrestored survivor and appears to be remarkably intact and unmolested.
The vehicle starts up and runs smoothly, drives and shifts well. The only work performed since its acquisition was the particulars of getting the vehicle operable, motor tune up, fluids, filters etc., 4 new wheel cylinders, a rebuilt brake master cylinder as well as 2 New bf goodrich tires.
The retractable hard top is currently not functioning, although the rear hatch does open and all the components appear to be there. Not being very familiar with these cars specifically, the choice was made to leave the top alone in order to avoid damaging the unit. Also, the air conditioning system is not operating, but all the major components appear to be present sans the belt and a hose or two. Other than that, there are of course the minor miscellaneous oil leaks inherent in a vehicle of this vintage. While fixing these issues may or may not be expensive, my asking price of $32,000 reflects this.
Other particulars of the Vehicle can be deciphered through the vin code on the drivers pillar:
