Car description

1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 For sale is a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in the original color of Winter Blue Metallic with Flat Black Hood and black vinyl Mach 1 Luxury interior. The car decodes as a Metuchen, NJ built SportsRoof Mustang with a 351 2V built June 18, 1969 equipped with a 3.0:1 9" rear end and a FMX automatic transmission. It has since been modified. The odometer shows 26,500 miles, but actual miles are not known. The overall condition of the car is very good. It runs and drives great, and has plenty of power. All major electrical functions as it should, and it stops and steers as it should with no major issues. The uni-body structure is very solid; floor pans are also very solid. The rear filler panel between the tail lights looks to be a replacement, properly installed and finished correctly. The Mustang was purchased from a Florida seller about 6-8 years ago. Upon getting the car, the paint had some chips in the finish, so the car was de-trimmed and repainted in the original color, it was then reassembled with original trim. There are a few blemishes in the paint and some sand marks that can been seen in the proper lighting. I tried my best to get good photos of those spots, but it is very hard to get them to show as they are very minor. The chrome trim is in very good condition; the bumpers are straight and rust free with good chrome finish. The engine has a nice build on an original 1969 351W with an engine block casting of C90E-6015-B, it is not known if this is the original engine to the car, based on the stamping on the back of the block, it would not be the original engine. The engine was built by the previous owner and the exact build is not known, but the valve covers say 371 stroker. The original 2V intake is long gone and has been replaced with an Edelbrock Performer RPM dual plane intake and topped off with a Holley 4 barrel, complete with electric choke. The stock distributor was replaced with a mechanical advance, powered by a blaster coil and controlled by a MSD 6A ignition box. The engine sounds great with a nice lumpy cam into long tube headers and out of the Flowmaster mufflers dumped right before the rear axle. The FMX transmission shifts firmly, and will chirp the tires between gears with ease. The stock disc brake front end and drum brake rear stop the car easily. The power disc brakes get a firm pedal; the size of the cam does not create enough vacuum to support the booster while sitting at an idle. The brakes operate normally when driving the car though. The wheels and tires are an offset front and rear set with a 14" tire on the front and rear, BF Goodrich Radial T/A P215/70R14 in front and a P245/60R14 in the rear, all with good tread and even wear. The rear lighting has been converted to LED with sequential turn signal bulbs and super bright brake lights for added visibility from the rear day or night. The lenses stay the same, but the bulbs are very bright LED replacements. The hazard lights do not work from the switch on the column. Steering and suspension all feel good, with no issues noted. The rear springs have a traction bar set up installed to prevent wheel hop. Shocks and springs all do their jobs as they should. The interior is in very good condition overall. The seats are in good condition with a few wear spots in the driver's seat at the seat back and the seat bottom, pictures show the two spots. The carpet is in like new condition. The headliner is very good overall, with a few spots that are showing what is believed to be 49 year originality. The glass is in good condition, and operates as it should. Most of the weather-strip is around the glass is original, the window fuzzies on the driver's door that is wavy is ordered and will be replaced and like new before the car is sold. Some other weather-strips have been replaced due to wear. All of the gauges function as they should, the clock works sometimes, but not all of the time, so do not plan on this clock keeping you on time to go somewhere. Overall condition of this Mustang again I would say is Very Good, it is not a concourse restored car, but a very nice driver. It gets stares everywhere you go, and thumbs up at almost every intersection. Terms of Sale 1.
