1951 Ford Club Coupe Project
Project that I was building as an early traditional custom but I won't have time to finish.
Body has been taken down to bare metal and painted with a satin white epoxy. Grill surround is from an early Mercury. It does have floor patches, bondo spots, and small scratches and dents, but none of the bodywork is major. It would still need work if you want a perfect glossy car. I wanted a driver quality body and that's all this is. Hood hinges are not bolted and hood and trunk do not latch. The doors do close and latch.
The flathead 6 and 3 speed trans was moved to make way for a 1959 Chevy 283 with a Turbo 350 trans. Engine numbers are for an Impala or Corvette 283 but I don't know what the drivetrain came out of originally. I do know that both were pulled out recently of a running driving late 60's Impala that was planning an LS swap. Engine will need to be plumbed and wired, but all is complete from carb to pan. No drive shaft.
Seats have been upholstered in a red tuck and roll, and garnish molding and dash have also been taken down to metal and primed. Dash is out of a 1950 Ford. No carpet, headliner, or door panels.
I do not have any of the side trim. I do have the headlight buckets. Passenger glass is cracked and rear glass gasket is very dated. I would recommend replacing all glass rubber but the rear glass is the most in need.
Radial whitewalls all around with flipper caps.
Slightly lowered in the rear with blocks.
Title is Colorado and is clear in my name. Vin on firewall is not legible and a new tag will have to be made.
Brakes do work as well as steering, but again this is a non running project car.
This is a great solid start to a very cool early 50's traditional custom!
