Car description

Purchased new here in San Jose, California by my sister and in the family ever since, this very desirable 1985 Mustang 5.0 EFI 2-door sedan (coupe) is being offered for your enjoyment. This is one of the less common color combinations of Medium Canyon Red with the Sand Beige interior and as I understand it, only the later 1985s had EFI. I have the build sheet and many invoices since it was new and the odometer currently shows 74524 miles.
Although not driven in several years, it runs very well with a nice throaty sound to the dual exhaust. To get it back on the road, it has had new flexible brake lines, rebuilt front calipers, rebuilt rear cylinders and new master, then pressure flushed with synthetic brake fluid. Has had a brand new battery put in just this past week, recent new wiper blades, new serpentine belt and new rear tires with zero miles as of this writing. The front tires have plenty of tread but are badly weathered so must be replaced before driving any distance.
The manual pop-up sunroof was dealer installed a couple months before we bought it in May of 1985 but unfortunately the glass came off last week in transit from Central Oregon to San Jose California so it not there and will need to be replaced and I may have found one but no guarantees. The stainless rocker panel covers were also dealer installed before it was first sold and will need to be re-affixed as all but one is off and in the trunk. The A/C system does not appear to put out cold air, or any air at all (maybe a fuse?) but I have not checked it to see why so that will be up to the buyer.

There are a couple new reproduction parts included, such as a full set of the plastic caps for the heater and A/C controls and the rubber seal for the console shifter. Also included is a new reproduction positive battery cable and two sets of uncut original keys but they are at my Oregon shop and will have to be shipped separately once I've gone up there to retrieve them. There is also a pair of good used taillights in the trunk as one on the car has a crack in the lens.
This car is being sold AS-IS without a warranty of any sort either expressed or implied so be sure to ask any questions in advance. Shipping, of course, is up to the buyer. It has a clear California title and currently has non-op (non-operational) status with the DMV. One viewer asked why the Oregon plates. I acquired the car about five years ago and immediately titled it in California but, as it remained at my Oregon shop, left on the Oregon plates until just before shipment when they were removed so the photos are current.
Registration and emissions testing including any adjustments that it may need to pass (the idle is a little too fast at the moment) will be your responsibility. We are located just a couple blocks (as the crow flies) from the San Jose International Airport so it's quite easy to fly in to pick it up!
Payment by PayPal with added PayPal fees or I can accept a personal check mailed and cleared at least 45 days in advance of pickup or until the bank confirms that it has cleared, which will likely be sooner. If you want to pay by PayPal, let me know and I'll send you an invoice which will include the fees. I cannot accept cash at this time unless mailed in advance but I am willing to discuss other payment methods that do not involve foreign royalty or other third parties.
