Car description |
---|
This is a great car with a lot of power from the 289 CI V8, it is a real sleeper! This car runs and shifts wonderfully! It is very quick and the power steering is great!
This car is in good used condition, almost a complete survivor condition, with some wear and small dents / scrapes as shown in the photographs.
The body is solid and I do not see any evidence of obvious rust.
The car was purchased new in Hartford, CT. by an elderly woman that did not drive it much. Sometime in the mid eighties, the car was acquired by the woman's nephew in VT and it was added to his large collection. I purchased the vehicle from his collection after his passing. I had a series of service receipts (that I have since misplaced) indicating that at the time of the addition to his collection the car had an odometer reading in the very low 30's. The collector's widow indicated that it didn't get driven much during his extended ownership and that the mileage is accurate. The title reflects this mileage as well. I believe this is why the body is so clean.
While the car was apparently repainted sometime after it was added to the former owner's collection, the paint has aged and it has been pucked / dented in various locations over time. Additionally, the roof has some dents from someone overloading it. The dents are only noticeable when you are closer to the car and I have tried to capture them well with the photographs and videos.
After I acquired the car, I changed the fuel tank (the original was gummed up), the carburetor was cleaned and a kit was installed, and the fuel pump replaced. A new heater core was installed, a new water pump and all new water hoses. The carpet was replaced as the heater core had leaked on the original carpet. The master and wheel brake cylinders were replaced and the brake hoses too. The fog lights were disconnected.
There are no leaks under the car.
The seats, door panels and headliner are the original and are in very good shape (see photographs).
The original trunk mat was torn when the fuel tank was replaced but I have left the original in place as it is a different pattern than the reproduction units.
I have included the maximum number of photographs that are allowed. I can always take more if necessary.
I have included the links to two videos, one where the car is being started with a walk around and the second showing a short ride.
I believe that everything works, however, the radio has interference from the ignition and requires a filter.
This is the video of the car starting and a walk around of the car while running, please note the condition of the various aspects of the car.
The next video was taken during a short drive to give you a sense of how quiet and smooth the car drives.
If you decide to purchase the car, I am requiring a $300 non-refundable deposit within 48hours of the listing end. I am also requiring full payment within 4 business days (even though the ebay default shows 3 days). Cash or wire transfer is preferred, however, if you wish to pay with any kind of Cashiers check, the car and title will not be released until the check has cleared at my bank. I will only accept Paypal for the deposit.
The car must be removed from the premises within 15 business days, after payment clears my bank.I am sensitive to shipping issues and timing. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact me to discuss.
I am happy to answer any questions that you may have. If you wish to speak with me regarding the car, please contact me through e-bay and supply your telephone number. I will call you back.
Thank you for looking and have a great day.
