Car description |

At the end of 4YR's of stewardship, I have learned that I havetoo many projects. It is time for a new owner to take the car to the next level.
1969 Ford Torino GT Fastback. I have done a great deal to this car and right now itis driving very well. There are a couple of stubborn oil leaks from the oil pan and valve cover. Because these two parts are warped and I was never able to quite get it right. The gauges are not working and the odometer does not read anymore. That is why I put unknown on the specifics.Power steering ramneeds servicing, possibly a rebuild. And it was my full intention for it to be this season's weekend driver. The good stuff is that it's pretty much original in it's presentation. Engine runs strong for a 50 year old classic. Rims are correct to the car. The photo's do most of the talking. Including a very solid unibody and other than one subframe hole, door skin and fender blemishes its it very good shape.
Things done: New ring and pinion set, professionally installed. New radiator, fan shroud, non clutched fan blade with aluminum spacer.Brake power booster and master cylinder professionally rebuilt out of Texas. New carpeting installed, dash cover installed. Rear brake rebuild (drums). Front Disc brakes / rotor / pads. New ball joints.
This car needs the right sort to take it to the next level. Someone that understands that it's 50 years old and yet, does not need all that much to get it tothe special level of prideful ownership. For a car guy with a garage, this a very doable project. The numbers do not match for engine and tranny. There will be hidden surprises and the buyer will need to understand that. I have too many projects and not enough room to give the car what it needs and deserves. I have shown and explained all I know to the best of my ability and memory in the spirit of full disclosure.
