The FRANKLIN MINT 1964 1/2 Mustang Convertible.
Survivor 1964 ½ Mustang Convertible. 2 owner, 69K original miles. 289 V-8, 4 speed, power top, AC rally pack, black, red interior, white top. Sitting for 10+ years, needs TLC, no rust. Floor boards are clean and solid.No accidents, fender numbers match the title, has never left the West Coast, garaged most of its life. Clear title that was last processed in 1999. Starts right up, sounds great, fuel pump going out as fuel stops pumping after a minute. Brakes are sticking. Fine to load / drive on a trailer.
UPDATE: We just installed a new fuel pump and it's running great! The choke works and the motor idles down nice when warmed up. So after a short spin, the brakes feel like they need adjusting and although the clutch is working just fine, the throw-out bearing is starting to wine a bit. Still, it is running and driving nice. Ready for a little TLC.
DATA PLATE DECODED:
Body 76A = convertible with buckets
Paint A = Raven Black
Trim 85 = Red Vinyl
Build Date 23G = July 1964
DSO 74 = Seattle Washington (District Sales Office)
Axle 1 = 3.0
TRANS 5 = 4 speed
Vehicle Warranty Number: 5R08D102814
R = San Jose, CA Assembly Plant
D = 289 V-8 4bbl - D code engine was the highest horsepower available in 1964.
