Runs Great! Drive it Home!
Less than 6000 miles since COMPLETE Restoration
This is the last year Ford made the Panel Van.
This one is beautiful and has a period correct crated 283-V8 Chevy engine with a TH350 auto trans, 9-inch Ford 360 Third Member, RV Shift kit, 1200 rpm high torque Stall Converter, Edelbrock manifold, Carter 9605S carb, new power steering, new rear drum/front disc brakes, new front-end w/kingpins, custom interior, carpet, headliner, swivel Captains Seats w/ armrest, vintage gauges, new wheels, tires and dual exhaust.
Originally built at Ford's San Jose, CA plant. Reportedly part of Helms Bakery of Los Angeles delivery van fleet in the 1960's (this is unconfirmed). Complete restoration and two-tone green and cream custom paint done in 2002-2003 by Performance Rod and Truck Center in Ramona, CA (near San Diego) who owned and thoroughly rebuilt it to be used as their "shop truckâ€.
When the shop closed in 2004 the owner sold it to a friend from the Seattle area who drove it from San Diego to Seattle where it was garaged and had only 1500 miles put on it over 13 years going to local car shows. I purchased it last year through my business for delivery and advertising and drove it back to San Diego from Seattle with no issues. Almost half of the miles on it now were from driving it to Seattle and back!
It's been my daily driver for local deliveries, but I need to get something larger now for longer distance hauling. I also own the 1955 Thunderbird pictured that also runs and drives perfectly. My wife won't let me keep both, so I must sell this Panel Van (or I'll wind up sleeping in it).
