I have a 1971 F250 4X4 "Highboy" ready for work or play. It's complete and mostly unmolested. The original 360 was replaced in '99 with a rebuilt 390 4 barrel. The motor runs great. It's smooth, quiet and makes a mountain of torque just like what you'd expect a fresh 390.
The body has several rust spots but overall it is still a very nice survivor. I took pics of the rust so you know exactly what you're getting. I have no desire to make this truck out to be something it isn't. This ol truck, as you might expect has been a work horse for many decades. Though used for 47 years I think its safe to say it wasn't abused. As the Marti report indicates, the original color was Calypso Coral (orange), my personal favorite. At some point it had a quickie repaint. None of the jambs, underhood or interior were repainted. They still have the factory orange. I'm going to say that this F250 has all of it's original body panels because of this. Everywhere you look its orange. No evidence at all that it's been wrecked.
Though this truck runs and drives good I have not taken it on any trips. Whatever has come up that it needed I replaced. Most recently a new brake booster was required to cure a loss of assist and large hissing noise with the brake applied.
I'm selling this truck because I have another vintage 3/4 ton 4 X 4 that I'm going to work on and a person only needs so many old projects. Thus I'm reluctantly going to pass this one along.
Anyway, if you have any additional questions I'd be glad to talk with you, text or respond to an email. My phone number is 573-230-6222. Thanks for taking the time to check out the ol' truck.
