FOR SALE:
1962 Ford Thunderbird 2-door Hardtop
This car is an all original car except for expendables such as tires and the battery.
The car’s odometer shows 43,XXX miles. These miles are believed to be the original miles but the title reports that the miles are “not actual.” The previous owner believes that an error was made at the BMV during a transfer. As you can see, the car appears as if it has 43,XXX original miles.
The car is powered by the original 390 cubic-inch, 300 horsepower V8 that is paired to the original 3-speed automatic transmission. Opening the car’s hood reveals the original 390 that stills wears its original equipment, including the original air cleaner and valve covers.
The car wears the original Sahara Rose exterior finish that shows well; Sahara Rose is reportedly a rare color. Additionally, the car’s exterior is adorned with original trim pieces that are in great shape.
The interior of the car is very clean and features the original black seat coverings. The driver’s seat was recently recovered with an OEM seat cover but the rest of the seats retain their original coverings. The floor is covered by the original black carpet. The interior is plush and welcoming with its modern appearance. The steering wheel is huge.
The trunk of the car is home to its original floor covering as well as the original spare tire and wheel.
The car was well-equipped from new. The car remains equipped with the original AM stereo that functions as it should. The car’s original air conditioning system remains functional but requires an annual recharge.
The car rolls smoothly on the original wheels with the original hubcaps that are wrapped in Hankook Optimo tires with the narrow white stripe. These tires perpetuate the car’s originality as they are a modern example of the original spare tire located in the car’s trunk.
The car was sold new by Joseph Abraham Ford, located on Southwest Eighth Street and 27th Avenue in Miami, Florida. The original owner, Robert Hollman was a Miami resident. Stickers to support this portion of the car’s history remain in place on the console. Additionally, the personalized nameplate that was awarded to Robert as the original owner remains in place on the console.
This generation of the Thunderbird is super cool and these cars are becoming increasingly popular thanks to the recent spike in interest in big body classics. The car is long and wide and the taillights are huge.
The car runs, rides, and drives great. It is a consistent provider of worry-free enjoyment. To my knowledge, the car has been stored indoors for the majority of its life.
The car carries a clean and clear title that is ready for transfer.
Interested parties are welcomed to have the car inspected but all inspections must be completed before the end of the auction. If you have questions or uncertainties about the car or the purchase process, please contact me with those questions or uncertainties before bidding. I can be reached with a call or a text at (270) 748-1882. If I do not answer, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
The car is located in Henderson, Kentucky, ZIP code: 42420. Henderson, Kentucky is conveniently located approximately 2 hours north of Nashville, Tennessee, 3 hours south of Indianapolis, Indiana, 3 hours east of St. Louis, Missouri, and 2 hours west of Louisville, Kentucky.
The car nor the title will leave my possession until the full purchase price amount has been received in a certified payment form. I prefer cash or a wire-transfer but I will accept a cashier's check if you do not have access to the previous payment forms. A cashier's check is subject to a 7-day clearance period (my bank's policy, not mine). If you choose to ship the car, I will accommodate any shipping arrangements that you may make, but the purchaser will remain financially responsible for the entire shipping process.
*IF YOU BID ON THE CAR, NO MATTER THE AMOUNT OF YOUR BID, PLEASE PLAN TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION IN THE EVENT THAT YOUR BID IS THE WINNING BID. A NON-REFUNDABLE $500.00 DEPOSIT MUST BE RECEIVED BY ME WITHIN 1 DAY (24 HOURS) OF THE AUCTION END UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE CAR WITHIN THIS TIME FRAME. THE FULL PURCHASE AMOUNT MUST BE RECEIVED BY ME WITHIN 4 DAYS (96 HOURS) OF THE AUCTION END. MY RECENT EXPERIENCES WITH NON-PAYING BIDDERS FORCES ME TO INTEGRATE THIS REQUIREMENT INTO MY LISTING.
THIS LISTING INVITES SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY AS THIS LISTING CARRIES A MODEST RESERVE!
Again, I can be reached with a call or a text at (270) 748-1882. I work in health care so if I do not answer, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
