UP FOR AUCTION IS A 1957 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE WITH 2-TOPS: BOTH THE HARDTOP AND A HAARTZ BLACK SOFT TOP. THIS IS A VERY NICE ORIGINAL CAR, THAT HAS BEEN WITH THE SAME OWNER FOR THE LAST 40+ YEARS. I WAS DRIVING BY HIS HOUSE AND SAW IT SITTING INSIDE HIS GARAGE, HAD TO ASK IF IT WAS FOR SALE AND SURE ENOUGH I ENDED UP BUYING IT. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR 2+ YEARS WITHOUT USE. IT DOES... RUN AND DRIVE PRETTY WELL, HOWEVER IT WOULD MAKE SENSE FOR THE NEW OWNER TO DO SOME MINOR MAINTENANCE BEFORE REGULAR USE. I DID PUT A NEW BATTERY IN, CHANGED THE OIL, AND HAD MY MECHANIC PERFORM A BASIC ONCE OVER ON IT. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL INVOICE FROM FORD AND THE CAR WAS SOLD FOR $3113.89 TO BROAD MOTORS CO IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. IT CAME FROM THE FACTORY WITH 750X14 X4 WSW TIRES, WINDSHIELD WASHER, FORD-O-MATIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, HEATER AND DEFROST, SIGNAL SEEK RADIO, BACK UP LIGHTS, FULL WHEEL COVERS. THE CAR HAS 3 TOUCHED UP CHIPS WHICH I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHED, NOTHING LARGER THAN MY FINGER TIP, THE SCRATCH IS A COUPLE INCHES LONG. THE HARDTOP IS IN GOOD SHAPE. THE SOFT TOP IS ALSO IN GOOD SHAPE HOWEVER THE CORK/RUBBER WHERE THE BASE OF THE TOP MOUNTS IS DISINTEGRATING AND COULD BE REPLACED (STAPLES ARE PULLING OUT). THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING OR POWER BRAKES. BUT THEY BOTH WORK WITH EASE. THE TUXEDO, BLACK/WHITE INTERIOR LOOKS REALLY NICE AGAINST THE ORIGINAL COLOR, DUSK ROSE. THE CHROME IS IN NICE CONDITION, REAR BUMPER IS NEW. THE INTERIOR IS NICE, NOT FRESH BUT VERY CLEAN. THE DOOR JAMS ARE NICE, BOTH DOORS SHUT VERY NICE AND HAVE EXCELLENT DOOR GAPS. THE TRUNK IS DETAILED OUT NICELY WITH A SPARE TIRE, JACK AND MAT. THERE ARE A BUNCH OF EXTRA PARTS, BOOKS, MANUALS, ETC.. TO ACCOMPANY THE SALE. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS VERY SOLID, AND LIGHTLY UNDERCOATED.
