WELL, IF YOU HAVE BEEN SHAKING YOUR HEAD YES, THEN THIS CANDY APPLE RED '66 FASTBACK MIGHT JUST BE THE ONE YOU HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!

When it comes to iconic, collectible Ford Mustangs there is never a doubt that the Shelby cars are the cream of the crop. The sad reality is that an original 1966 Shelby GT 350 in the condition of the car you are about to view is selling at a price that most folks can either not afford, or do not want to spend on a classic they intend on driving and enjoying. This Candy Apple Red Fastback provides the enthusiast and collector with an awesome alternative that will turn all the heads, win plenty of trophies, and can truly be driven and enjoyed! I recently acquired this beautifully restored, A-Code, Candy Apple Red GT 350 recreation from a gentleman who had owned it for the past 20 years. He pampered this car and it was always garage kept under a cover and only driven on sunny days and usually only taken to car shows and cruise-ins. He owned his own business and loved sharing the hobby with his kids over the years but now that they were grown he found himself driving this beauty less and less. He finally decided the time had come to let another lucky car guy or gal enjoy his baby...maybe you!!!? When he purchased this car 20 years ago it had just gone through a beautiful, rotisserie, professional restoration. The guy who had the restoration done was building it to keep but a divorce changed those plans and he had to sell it. As you will see, this Shelby GT 350 Fastback recreation looks like it could have just been restored and it was meticulously maintained and pampered.
As with all of my classics, I do have this '66 advertised on my website and several others. If you decide this is the one for you andwant to scoop it up before the next car guy or gal does, feel free to call me to discus how we can make that happen. I will do my best to provide you with enough large images, a video tour so you can hear it start up and running, and an honest description to help you decide if this Pony should be in your stable. I am also a transport broker and can get the buyer a great deal on enclosed transport anywhere in the US. I welcome overseas buyers and will be happy to assist you to get the car to the port of your choice. Sit back and enjoy!!

As I mentioned this gorgeous A-code Fastback was restored over 20 years ago but it is NOT showing its age and truly looks like a car that was restored last month. When I was talking to the previous owner I asked him how he would rate the quality of the paint and body and he said it was a 10 out of 10. I was skeptical that it could be that nice after 20 years but I have to say, he was not far off! I do not use the phrase "Show Quality" often when describing paint as everyone has a different standard but I have no problem saying that this Candy Apple Red beauty has a show quality paint job. Previous owner said he won about 50 trophies over the years and there is no doubt that it will many more if that is what you enjoy. This car was an original San Jose, California production car that spent much of its life in a dry rust free climate before it was treated to a rotisserie restoration. Body panels are extremely straight and the gaps and fitment are outstanding....probably better thanfactory. It looks like it may have received rear quarter panel skins but the work was done top notch and hard to detect. A high quality, correct Shelby style fiberglass hood with correct scoop was used and as you will see it lines up great. Correct Shelby style Plexi rear vent windows were installed as were rear quarter panel scoops. Wimbledon white stripes run from the tip of the hood to the bottom of the rear valance and are buried under the clear coat. GT 350 side stripes run down the sides and still look great.Although the body is not flawless, it is pretty darn close. There may be a tiny rockchip or two and some really small nicks in the lower body stripes but otherwise it is close to perfect. All of the glass is correct Carlite glass and is in excellent condition. Bumpers, chrome trim, and emblems all look fantastic. Weatherstripping was all replaced and still looks great as well. Shelby GT 350 fuel cap and badging add to the look. I think the walk aroundphoto tour of the body below will show you how nice this car is!!

Complimenting the Candy Apple Red glistening exterior is a factory correct standard black interior that also looks like it was completely restored at the same time. Everything in in phenomenal condition showing little to no wear including door panels, dash pad, seats, carpeting, and headliner. The seats feel like they got new foam and are very comfortable. Factory seat belts for front and rear passengers. The fold down rear seat functions perfectly and looks great. Beautiful Moto Lita woodgrain steering wheel with GT 350 horn button. Original factory gauges are all working and look great. Odometer was set to zero at time of restoration and now reads just under 9600 miles. Aftermarket Tach was neatly mounted on the steering column and a great sounding Sony am/fm/CD player with amplifier was neatly mounted in the dash with speakers in the rear hatch area.Original 4-speed shifter now has the 5-speed shift knob but fits right in. Nice aftermarket center console with cupholders and storage sits between the bucket seats. Fire extinguisher mounted under passenger dash which is always a good idea to have with any classic. Overall, the interior is still in show condition and matches the quality of the exterior. Check it out:

Pop the hood and smile as you view the highly detailed engine bay with a 302 GT40 Roller crate motor that has accumulated just under 9600 miles since the restoration. This was an original A-code 289 4bbl car but this motor offers more horsepower estimated at 300-325 hp. Originally a 4-speed car, the decision was made to swap it out with a Borg Warner 5-speed which is such a pleasure especially with the 4.11 gears in the 9" Ford Posi-trac rear. This set up allows you to have some real stop light to stop light fun but also be able to drop it in to 5th gear and cruise at highway speed. Quick Reliable starts thanks to the MSD electronic ignition. Fuel flows from the Holley 750 4bbl. Carburetor. Beautiful set of polished tri-y headers breathe out the great sounding H-pipe dual exhaust that exits just under the real valance. Suspension was all restored and this '66 handles the road beautifully. Great stance, slightly lowered with a slight rake and the 15" Polished Torque thrust wheels look awesome. Eagle GT Radials still have tons of tread life. Stopping is a breeze with the front disc brakes that were also completely redone. Correct Shelby cast aluminum oil pan. A turn of the key and this Pony lets you know she wants to be driven. Make sure you watch and listen to the video that follows the photos below to hear how great she sounds.
As you will see in the pics of the undercarriage below this Mustang was restored on a rotisserie and the floorpans were painted in body color and are rock solid as you would expect from a California car. The undercarriage is nicely detailed and you could proudly slide mirrors under it to show off at the car shows. Trunk is also rock solid and nicely detailed. Vin # clearly still in the drivers side inner fender and a Shelby Tag is also included if you want to put it on for the shows. This '66 Fastback is an absolute blast to drive!!!!
