Car description

If you are looking for an early example of the car that started a revolution, you just found one. They started production in March of '64, and this one was built in April. It's a desirable D-code 289 automatic and is as solid and straight as you will find anywhere.
It also happens to be gorgeous in its factory correct Raven Black. When the look of a car is so familiar, and when it's painted black, you need to be sure the body panels are straight and smooth, and the gaps are consistent. This car doesn't disappoint. The long hood and crisp fender lines catch the light and show off the look that launched the legend. The chrome and brightwork on the car is all super sharp and of course it doesn't get much better than the look of chrome on a black car. Looking at it directly from the front, the pencil thin bumper underlines a black honeycomb grill with delicate chrome lines outlining the grill holding the iconic Pony in the center. Looking up you can see the windshield reflecting on the surface of the glossy black hood like mountains reflected on a lake. At the back there are those triple lens taillights in their chrome bezels underlined by the bumper, and finally, the black and chrome steel wheels with Pony centers are the perfect look for this car.
A sharp looking black interior is always desirable in a classic, and this one is a special treat. When it was refreshed, the decision was made to upgrade the seat upholstery to the deluxe Pony pieces, and it looks spectacular. A black steering wheel sits on a deep dish three spoke chrome mount with a Pony center. The dash is neat and clean with the chrome piping trimming everything out looking sharp. The factory AM radio is still in its place, but for your listening pleasure, a Pioneer head unit that is iPod compatible resides in the glovebox pumping the sound out through speakers in the back shelf and a subwoofer in the trunk. Black carpets with Mustang floor mats protecting them look great. Then there are a couple unique touches added. The footwells are lit with blue light, and to catch and reflect that light, the kick panels are trimmed in white. An aftermarket center console provides a very comfortable armrest and a secure place to set a couple drinks.
And if you are going to have drinks in this car, they best be secure. Because with a healthy 289 under the hood along with an upgraded brake system, this car is meant to be driven. Pop the hood and take a peek. You will find a Ford Motorsport air topper capturing an oversized filter assuring that this engine is breathing lots of fresh clean air. A Holley 4-barrel carb handles the mixing duties and distributes it through a stock intake and engine. Headers make sure motor breathes out efficiently and sends the exhaust through dual Flowmaster mufflers making sweet sounds along the way. Chrome Ford Motorsport valve covers add a splash of flash and everything is neat and clean. Power is sent back through a 3-speed automatic and hits the ground through slightly larger rear tires for little extra traction. A real treat is the 4-wheel disc brakes installed on this car. So, all that go power has plenty of whoa power to reign this Pony back in with.
Check out this super early production, rust free, driver-oriented car. You may decide to go ahead and drive it home.
