History
My father picked this up from a neighbor of ours in late 1978.It was in nice shape and just required some adjustments and a few basics. We did a entire color change and jambs. This was my first restoration at 16 years old.The plan was made that Dad would use it for a park and ride vehicle until he retired from the LAFD.He finished using it 1997 and passed it on to Me.Had big plans to do a performance upgrade and soon realized that it would be best to leave it as is.Money, time and shop space....never enough of each.
1979
Upgraded entire drive line from a low miles 71' Comet. It is now equipt with a 200 ci 6 cyl 3 spd trans (syncro 1st gear) and matching rear end assembly .All original engine trim and hardware was reused for the upgrade.Refreshed the body, bed and engine bay.Painted entire body and bed FordWimbledonWhite.Removed all cad plated hardware and had it plated.Reupholstered door panels and bench seat and re chromed the front bumper.Installed stock radio and heater box.Completed by mid 1980.
1997
Found my Father's Street Roadster in a barn in Bellingha, WA.Purchased the roadster and returned the car to my Father. The Ranchero was relegated as a shop truck and event push truck.
2002
New pressure plate, clutch and throw out bearing.Trim work was removed and polished.New carpet kit and shift collar.Added cruise control and fresh brakes,
***Windshield trim is in excellent shape and will be boxed up and included with the sale.***
