1938 Ford Australian Utility (UTE). The UTE is unique to Australia. As far as I know there are only 3 of the ’38 Models in the US. I found this one in Canada. The chassis were built in Canada and exported to Australia where the bodies were built and the final assembly was done.
This is a restoration in progress and is a Right Hand Drive.

Included:
- A clear New Mexico title in my name with the Canadian VIN
- A new 21 stud engine (From Dennis Carpenter reproductions) It is my understanding that these engine are new but due to long term storage issues they had to be reworked. The over/under sizes are listed on the tag shown in the photo
- The correct aluminum “Made in Canada” heads (2)
- US made iron heads for spares (2) and one (1) US made aluminum head
- Used intake manifolds (2) aluminum
- Carburetors new rebuilt or rebuilt slightly used (2)
- Water Pumps new reproduction (2)
- Rebuilt oil pumps (2)
- Rebuilt Starter and new starter drive & 1 used starter
- Clutch pressure plate and disk. New or re-manufactured
- Used fly wheel with pressure plate
- Some gaskets
- LHD dome muffler - slight modification for RHD
- The original frame (unusable), with the Canadian VIN (You will need this for the VIN number) Includes the transmission and rear axle (last photo)
- Two additional frames for parts, or to use
- NOS Front spring
- Many rear springs (used) to select from
- Correct shocks including the correct front Canadian links. I also have the rear links but thy are too long and will need to be shortened 1/4-3/8 inch on each end. Also, if you want, I have the tooling I used to reproduce these.
- NOS radiator - in the original box
- NOS gas tank
- Used external oil filter
- Many extra fenders (mostly rear - US made) – some NOS(?) some used. May need some slight modification to fit the UTE
- Pair fender skirts
- Five (5) powder coated wheels with new tires and tubes and 2 used tires
- Five (very good reconditioned hub caps)
- Reproduction (Bob Drake) reproduction bumpers - the UTE had only the front bumper but a rear could be added if you want - used front front bumper arms are included
- Re-chromed bumper guards
- Material to finish re-skinning the tailgate is included
- NOS brake drums -two piece type (4), used hubs (4) relined shoes, springs, and NORS cables
- Used brake backing plates
- RHD steering column and gear box with new bushings
- Reproduction '38 STD steering wheel
- Complete set of ’38 Std. trim
- Correct RHD wiring harness from Australia
- Lot of instruments and gauges
- New (Bob Drake) battery box
- At least one generator
- A Correct 1938 Radio
- '38 STD. horn
- Headlight (Bob Drake) assemblies (2) including hardware and lens (4) only one reflector, and one complete Headlight assembly.

- A seat from a US ’38 Ford Tudor

- Set of window glass (from A US coupe) may need some slight modification to fit the UTE
