FOR SALE: 1932 Ford Five Window Coupe ~ All Steel Original Body ~ All Paint &Body Work Done ~ No Motor - Has Original Transmission & Rear End ~ Is On Original Chassis
Here is the story on this rare outstanding car. This gem does not come around very often.
This 32 Coupe was purchased originally in West Texas new in 1932. Eventually the owner after years of use decided to park it instead of selling it and there it sat protected for years. At some point in time it was decided to be passed down to the grandson to have.
After a period of time the grandson decided to restore the car.The car was brought to North Texas and taken to a body shop in Gainesville, Texas . The car was completely disassembled so it could be totally gone over. All body work was done. The sheet metal in the car was void of any serious rust issues. After body work was completed and with the car still apart it was primed and painted on both sides with black paint. After paint and body work was completed the grandson decided to put off restoring the car for the time being. At that time the car was put in dry storage by the body shop for the time being. Time passed and it remained stored at the body shop waiting on the grandson to continue.
This is where the current owner of the car comes into the picture. About three plus years ago he got word of this car still in storage in Gainesville and got into contact with the grandson to purchase the car. They made a deal and he purchased the car. The grandson never transferred the title so it was still a one owner car when purchased. The current owner transferred the title to make sure it had a clear title after all these years. So he is the second owner of this car. He brought the car to his shop and checked to make sure what all was there for the car. Almost all of the parts were there for the car. He purchased what parts he needed to assemble the car and put her back together after all these years. As I said he has owned the car for a little over three years and was planning on turning the car into a street rod. Since he had the motor he was going to use in the car he sold the original 4 cyl motor for the car. After getting it assembled he has decided to sell his business and his home and down size to a smaller shop. He decided to keep his favorite cars and that means there will not be any room available to finish building this coupe. So he has decided not to finish the car at this time and is now offering it for sale. He does not have to sale this car and has the facilities to store the car but would prefer the car get completed by someone and not be put into storage. He would like to see this one finished and put on the road & driven.
My name is Jim Harper and I am a personal friend of the owner. We have been friends and been car guys for many years. Due to him closing his business and downsizing and moving I have offered to sell some of his cars so he can spend the majority of his time doing the things he needs to do. Once the car sells and the proper deposit is accomplished or if it is otherwise needed I will put the prospective buyer directly in touch with him. He will handle the final details of the sale and the car being picked up. So my main job is to save him time by answering all the questions I can on the car. I will run any questions you have that I am unable to answer by him as time permits. By the way his name is Jim also and is a great guy.
Below I will list some details on the car. First of all the car is being sold in
