SUMMARY:

This listing is for our family's prized collector's car. This is an original survivor with limited replacement performed to ensure the vehicle is in perfect working condition. The interior is all original, with the exception of the steering wheel which was replaced due to a crack in the plastic. The vehicle was serviced in 2016 by Paul at Mustangs & Fast Fords OC in Orange County, CA, and had all working parts inspected for wear and tear. The front steering components were replaced, brakes were serviced and parts were replaced to ensure perfect operating condition. Convertible Top pump parts were replaced, a new exhaust system was custom fabricated by a welder that the shop works with. The gas tank was replaced, an electronic ignition system was installed, the radiator was replaced, and a new Holley carb. was installed. I still have the original smog-compliant carb. and all records of over $8,000.00 in parts and labor that was performed. The car starts right up on the first turn of the ignition, brakes are excellent, steering is smooth and precise, and the car drives like a dream.
My grandfather was the 3rd owner of this vehicle before he passed the title on to me so that I would be able to list it on Ebay. The car was purchased in the early 1980's in Newport Beach, CA from the 2nd owner, the Behr Paint family. They had owned the vehicle also for quite a few years, so the original owner, possibly a family member of the Behr family, or otherwise, did not own the car for very long. All original parts, even the original gas cap and wheel covers are intact. The car has been babied by my family, and garage kept for the entirety of the 40 years we have owned the vehicle.
In addition to service records from 2016, I have obtained the Marti Report confirming the vehicles location of origin and options. The car was built in San Jose, CA in November of 1966. This car is a real head-turner and garners quite a bit of attention, however many will covet the fact that the car is mostly original and aside from some of the mechanical components(steering parts, brake parts, exhaust and gas tank), the car is virtually all-original. The car was repainted in the 1980s to a "Porsche Red" color. The original color is Candy-Apple red. We believe it still has the original steel wheels and wheel covers as well. Please contact me if you have any further questions or concerns, however the pictures should speak for themselves. Thank you.
*I would like to note that there is a small nick at the door jamb, I have included a picture of it in the gallery. Also there is a small ding on the front bumper and the convertible top has wear and there is some tearing occurring on the back, and on the sides. It could be repairable but may need to be replaced at some point. We did not want to replace this item as there may be some buyers who will want to restore the original top. There is no rust on this vehicle, and it has never seen salt or snow. There are some oil stains and some reddish debris in the wheel wells, there is no rust or corrosion in these areas what-so-ever. This car has never seen salt or snow in it's entire lifetime. The original Smog Pump was removed at some point, however original carb. is included with sale.
