1956 FORD THUNDERBIRD - RARE COLOR AND ENGINE OPTION

This 1956 Ford Thunderbird is a very rare car in that it is finished in the original factory color Sunset Coral as per the car's factory data plate. The factory invoice is available to verify this car. Only about 2. 2% of the '56 T-Birds were produced in this color as per Classic Thunderbird Club information. More importantly. the engine is equpped with the extremely rare Ford factory dual 4-barrel polished manifold and carburetor option that was released to the public on July 6. 1956 as a dealer installed option. This manifold/dual quad carb option is discussed on the CTCI website. This '56 factory option was the forerunner to what is generally referred to as an E-Bird in 1957 which was produced with a different manifold and air cleaner on some 211 Thunderbirds in 1957. This car has been judged at both the most recent Classic Thunderbird Club Internation conventions in 2014 and 2012 and was awarded the Gold Medallion.
