Car description

1993 Mustang Cobra #2386

Black with gray leather interior

Less than 23,900 miles

Excellent condition

Reluctantly I'm auctioning off my 1993 Cobra. I bought this car about a year and a half ago with anticipation of cruising it to some car shows but I never seem to have time. Other than cranking it about once a month the car just seems to sit.

I purchased the car from a police officer in Pennsylvania. According to him he was the second owner. I believe he purchased from a dealer after it was traded by the original owner so actually the dealer could be considered the second owner if you want to split hairs.

Car has been completely trouble free for me. I replaced the OEM mats with a NOS set. The originals showed some slight wear. Oil changed with Mobil 1 less than 50 miles ago. Correct Motorcraft filter used.

Car is in completely stock condition apart from the exhaust. The previous owner installed a set of cat back Flowmaster exhaust mufflers and pipes. The original exhaust comes with the car. I had plans to swap it back myself but the car sounds really good the way it is.

Paint is in excellent condition for a 25-year-old car. I found one small chip from road debris that was touched up by one of the previous owners. You have to look really close to find any imperfections. I have kept the car washed, waxed, and covered in the garage. Car has won several trophies at car shows which I will include with the sale of the car if you want them.

Interior is very nice as well. The only thing on the interior that doesn't show as new is some very slight wear on the drivers seat as you would expect from a car that has been driven. When I say wear, I don't mean tears or holes, etc. Just wear consistent with sitting on leather. Other than that everything else in the interior shows like new. The luggage cover works as it should. The radio still has the protective cover on it from the factory which is a nice touch. Ash tray door operates as it should. Everything works including cold AC. Car is a factory cassette car with sunroof, leather, lumbar, power driver seat, and rear defrost. I believe this is every option offered except for a CD player (instead of cassette) and a block heater.

Original tires were dry rotted from age so were replaced with a set of Nittos by the previous owner and are practically new. Rims are in excellent condition with no clear coat hazing.

Engine compartment is all original with the exception of the battery. Oil filter is correct gray embossed Motorcraft filter. To be honest the engine bay is a bit dusty and could use a thorough detailing to make it perfect. I just haven't taken the time to do it. It appears to me the car may have never seen water under the hood. If it has, it has been very sparingly. The original tags on the valve covers and other places show no sign of water. You won't see that on very many Cobras.

To recap I believe (1) the original exhaust could be put back on the car, (2) the Interstate battery could be swapped for a Motorcraft battery, and (3) there is a SVT logo on the trunk which I believe is not factory. Other than those things I believe the car to be as original as you can get.

Car has enough miles on it you can still drive it to a local show without worrying over every single mile but still low enough to be a true collector. Car has been a garage queen its whole life and shows as such. From appearance I doubt the car has ever seen rain. It has had mature owners and has been responsibly cared for. Very nice car but keep in mind it is 25 years old. With that being said, its in much better shape than the minivan you bought your wife last year.

This is production number 2386 of only 4993 produced. I won't go into how rare the car is and one year only production. If your reading this I'm sure you have done your Cobra homework.

I have a stack of paperwork on the car including all the dealer servicing and original dealer purchase invoice. Comes with two sets of keys, the SVT certificate, original owner's manual, and tons of other literature.

As you can see from my feedback I take all my eBay business very seriously. Over 900 transactions and never a negative feedback. I pride myself on being very honest and transparent on anything I sell. If anything I'd rather be over critical. Anything I mention is being very critical of a really nice car. As with anything I sell if you show up and feel like the car has been misrepresented I'll refund your deposit minus listing fees and you can be on your way. This is a 25-year-old car so there is no warranty. Feel free to come inspect prior to the end of the auction.

Please have funds ready. I will require a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment will be due within 7 days. Cashier's check or cash are accepted forms of payment. I will work with you to make the car available for you to pick up or a shipper that you have lined up. Car is in Tellico Plains, TN 37385. I may be able to assist with enclosed delivery within a day's drive for compensation of expenses but only after full payment has been received. Please only bid if you have funds in hand.

Sure I'm forgetting a lot of things but just ask if you have any questions. I'm not the best photographer but let me know if you would like a picture of something specific. I'll try to get the car on a lift and get some photos underneath over the next few days. Someone is going to very proud to own this amazing car. If you wish you can message me with your phone number and I will call to discuss the car.

Thanks for viewing my auction!

Okay boys and girls. I cant keep up with the messages asking for the reserve or asking to end the auction early so hears what I'm going to do. Lifting the reserve so next bid ($22,200) will be a binding contract to buy the car. No more sport bidding. Please don't ask, I will not end the auction early. I hate it when I am bidding on a car only to watch it get pulled early.

Answers to some common questions:

Floor mats in the photos are aftermarket set. The brand new set I have is still stapled together on the FOMOCO hanger. Will include the originals with wear so that's three sets if your counting.

Paint is in excellent condition as you can see from the photos. It is a black car and it is a25 year oldFord paint jobso in direct sunlight from 24 inches away expect some "swirls" or "spider webbing" or whatever you want to call it. Car has been driven over 23k miles! I know these will polish out with the fancy polishes and buffers but I hand wax only. I have seen too many older cars buffed until the paint is gone on the edges. So when you buy the car you can buff it to a mirror if that's your thing but it will go win car shows as it sits. Pictures show paint is very nice!!

Under the hood is not detailed to whatIwould consider car show standards. With a dry cloth or Windex everything cleans up just like new. Not dirty by any means. No grease or oil or heavy buildup. Primarily just belt dust.

Car has no leaks. Never had a single drop on the floor.

Power windows and locks work as they should. To my knowledge everything works on the car just as it left the factory.

Rims are in excellent condition. No curb rash. Ebay just caps the photos so I didn't show all four. One rim has one scuff on the very edge that you would see from changing tires but if I didn't mention it you wouldn't likely notice.

Keep the other car questions coming. Thanks to everyone for their interest and I've enjoyed speaking to you other Foxbody enthusiasts! Good Luck.

Just an update. I did find my file with the original window sticker, SVT certificate, tons of period Cobra brochures, and all dealer maintenance records since new. I am trying to swap some photos in the listing to show these things but its not letting me so if you want to see pics of the window sticker and other literature just shoot me a message and I' forward. Thanks again everyone!
