1598 - special order, special-color, 1967 Bronco Sport with dealer installed and performance accessories that tell a story.
Buck Tag from factory which is still wired to cowl reads:

1967 was the first year for the Bronco Sport package which consisted of fabric covered door panels, bright trim grill, window/tailgate/body side and rocker panel moldings, chrome bumpers and half-moon horn ring.
Taking a look at the options listed on the Marti Report for this particular Bronco tells you whoever ordered it was ordering their Forever Bronco. The individual who ordered this was a true enthusiast, that's a rare thing in itself. Lots of Broncos started life with little to no options as many folks bought and ordered them for utility and farm use only.
What makes this already unique and high optioned Bronco even cooler, it was ordered through Ken Roggy Ford, a well known performance dealer.
If you've never heard of Ken Roggy Ford then read this;
Los Angeles was a hotbed for Hot Rodding in the 60s, when the Bronco craze came thought in the mid and late 60s, the aftermarket scene centered itself in Los Angeles. Several other small companies and dealers popped up offering random fender flares, simple roll-bars and performance additions to the Broncos.
Then of course, there was Bill Stroppe and associates, a factory funded racing effort for the Bronco. Probably 2nd in rank, high on a ledge with
K bar S and just below Stroppe, was Ken Roggy Ford. Charlie Erickson himself was the sales manager and the man behind pushing the Bronco sales throughout the entirety of the country. He promoted Broncos as the ultimate back-country rig with performance outfitting parts from his dealership. The dealership ran advertisements reaching national and international status in big magazines like "Four Wheeler" as early as 1967.
This particular 67 Bronco Sport we are selling was indeed ordered and sold at Ken Roggy Ford. The Broncos corralled at Ken Roggy Ford were pitched either for sale or to custom order and some even sat on the lot already outfitted with certain "wide-base" wheels, rear flares, and roll-bar. See pics, of this Broncos Marti report and of ads placed by Charlie Erickson and Ken Roggy Ford along with pics of Moody/Stroppe ads with certain accessories available. Ken Roggy Ford was also one of the first performance outfits to offer pre-ordering of the HD axles and suspension packages available for the Ford Bronco.
Several pieces on this 67 Bronco indicate it was outfitted when new and in the following 3-4 years with some of the best Bronco parts available.
First and foremost - this Bronco is equipped with the very heavy duty
Bill Stroppe and Associate power steering system, Stroppe rear flares, and Stroppe 15x8 steel wheels as verified by Andrew Norton of BajaBronco.
In addition, this Bronco has a full cluster of SW Stewart Warner gauges strategically placed on a panel in the center of the dash to accurately manage engine vitals. The Bronco also retains a Warn Bellevue Winch, Air tank/horn, front and rear dual shock absorbers, tow hitch, under-hood toolbox and CB antenna mount, all which would have been dealer installed or first owner "Day two" mods, the patina all but etches it in stone. This was an expensive Bronco to build in 1967-1968, and logistically would only really of happened in the greater so cal Area with a certain use in mind.

Conditions on this Bronco seem to be complete. The seats are not original to the Bronco, possibly added for comfort back when all the mods took place? Inner fenders have signs of flake rust but door jambs, body seams are all good which are normal places of rust on these. The floors do have surface rust and both driver/passenger side have the common floor seam rust split that goes through. The original vinyl floor mat is in great condition resting under a 'sport' style carpet that was custom made back in the day. The 1967 289's are 10:1 compression and this motor has some power. We believe the carb needs to be rebuilt or a vacuum leak or power brake booster leak?
it seems to be missing on idle and throttle a bit, not running at its full potential? The Bronco still runs pretty good tho and drives very straight and true down the road at any speed. The Hurst floor-shift linkage could be adjusted, the detents over time are out of adjustment.
The tailgate tire rack mount/clasp pushed a dent into the tailgate.The rear bed area and wheel wells are nice, strong and clean. The original color which was 'special order paint' appeared to be a medium gun metal grey. The Bronco was painted Silver and by the patina it appears it was done maybe during the first days of modifying stage? There is exterior surface rust on the hardtop edges, the lip of the hood, edge of windshield and a few random areas on the body. Passenger side rear panel has a crease dent and Driver side rear has a smaller dent/slash on the upper tail light housing. Passenger door handle mount has a slight bend to it. Rockers and underside floors appear solid. This Bronco was well undercoated most likely during the purchase for most of the added options have undercoat on them as well.
From what we know this Bronco was from the Los Angeles sales district and ultimately ended up in Arizona. Through visual recognition, research, curiosity and from what we have been told, this Bronco also shared part of its life down in Mexico. We are not for sure what it did or where it resided, research still needs to continue? From what we have been told by the past owner, it was middle a aged man who owned this Bronco and was used as some sort of assistance vehicle down at a higher volume resort area / pass through pueblo. With what we see, what we've been told and a few photos dug up, we strongly believe it assisted in the Mint 400 races and possibly some of the other great Baja 500/1000 races back then. Although no solid evidence that it was an assistance vehicle in Baja, it was sure ordered, built for and seems likely that it was its intended use? The nice large air tank/air horn underhood for clearing cattle from road/raceways could be a possible? There is also one surfaced/attached photo of what we believe is most likey this silver Bronco/silver hardtop, stationed in the pits. We think this photo is from the 1971 Vegas Mint 400(look at silver hardtop and antenna mount in vintage photo, then notice the antenna mount and original silver paint under the white hard top currently??) This Bronco also resembles the order options of the famous dealer ordered 'Silver Fox' Bronco also sold through Ken Roggy Ford.
We are still trying to locate more photos and any other info on this Bronco if any readers know anything they can add? No, this Bronco doesn't have a shiny orange/white/blue paint job or any known race miles but it does appear to have some true accessory, patina and history of Baja experience with 'PELIGRO' written on the fan shroud !
Other then that, we are passing on this cool, high optioned,
Stroppe accessorized / Ken Roggy Bronco to a deserving owner, one that can finish its history research, maybe restore it one day and run the lands it was intended for!
