- 1964 Ford Thunderbird Covertible "Z" Code 390 Automatic -
This car is very driver quality, starts right up and runs well. Power Steering, power brakes, and air conditioning are from the factory. Air doesn't work but that's why is a convertible! Mechanically, the bird is in good condition, but does have an exhaust leak, which is quite noticeable. Tires are in pretty good shape. The convertible top looks good and is functional from its original switch. Power windows are functional from the driver switch. Tilt away steering wheel is functional. Radio and horn are both functional as well.
This is what I like to call a "15 footer". From 15 feet the car looks great, but as you get closer, you get to noticing the imperfections. There are many blemishes all over the body, and I tried to take pictures for examples. There is cracking and corrosion coming through in spots. I also took photos of the rockers to show the holes toward the back. The car needs work and is not perfect. The interior seems to model the body (not perfect). The seats have no rips but do show signs of wear. Dash and chrome pieces look okay, but not great. The chrome on the car is OK but some spots do have surface rust. Wire wheels spell the same story, look okay with some surface rust.
This car is no where near perfect and could use some TLC. In saying so, this is one cool car and would make a great driver as it sits. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Good luck and happy bidding!
