Car description

Mustang convertibles will always rank high on collectors' wish lists. This pretty 1965 Ford Mustang ragtop offers all the great Mustang virtues, including a V8 engine, a great color combination, A/C, and, of course, unbeatable classic good looks, with absolutely no drawbacks.
In a sea of garden-variety cars, this lovely Rangoon Red ragtop stands out and is a great car to own if you want attention. Repainted not too long ago, the finish is deep and lustrous with the only flaws being the result of driving and enjoying the car, not due to the workmanship, which is uniformly good. The result is a car that's both instantly recognizable but looks like something more expensive, and the bright color combination will earn you friends everywhere you go. Panel fit is good overall, with factory-style gaps all around and doors that open and close easily, a sure sign that the structure underneath is solid and strong. Nobody took any liberties with the classic Mustang details, either, as there's a set of '289' badges up front (more on those in a moment), plus quarter panel inserts on the flanks. In fact, all the trim looks fantastic against the bright red paint job. There's a trunk rack out back, a popular period accessory that dresses the car up just right.
An attractive Deluxe Parchment interior (also known as the Pony interior) is a bright and cheerful choice on the convertible and really works well. Things like the carpet, console, dash pad, and seat covers were replaced in the not-too-distant past, while the door panels are in good shape. The driver's seat shows some signs of use and age, but that's not surprising and there's nothing that should stop you from getting in and having fun. Sharp-eyed readers will note that an aftermarket A/C system has been installed under the dash and the radio is a modern AM/FM/CD stereo unit in the original slot. Factory gauges show bright markings and clear lenses, pretty nice for being original, and the steering wheel is a familiar 3-spoke piece that's showing some wear but no cracking or damage. The white convertible top is in very good condition with a crystal clear rear window, and a matching Parchment boot is included. Finally, the trunk is finished with a reproduction mat and a cover for the spare tire.
Most early Mustangs sported Ford's 289 cubic inch V8, but this one carries a later 302 cubic inch version that slots right in and looks exactly the same. It's finished in black, as all the early V8s were, and with chrome valve covers and an open-element air cleaner, it looks dressed up for show. Early cars also had generators, but this one carries a correct alternator for reliability and better performance at low speeds. The engine bay is quite clean and you'll appreciate a modern electronic ignition system that's practically maintenance-free. The undercarriage is extremely clean, carrying a recent dual exhaust system and power steering that really does make a difference, even in the relatively lightweight Mustang. A C4 3-speed automatic transmission routes power back to an 8-inch rear end, which we believe carries 3.00 gears. Classic styled steel wheels are always the right choice and wear 195/75/14 whitewall radials.
If you love Mustangs, you can't help but realize that this is a fantastic summertime cruiser that will never go out of fashion. Add in A/C, a wonderful V8 exhaust note, and a lot of quality work, it's a safe bet for future fun. Call today!
