Car description |
---|
You are bidding on my 1985 Mustang GT T-top 5 spd car. It is one of the cleanest Fox Body's I've ever owned. The car was originally purchased in Iowa and lived there until 2003. Then sold and moved to Illinois from 2003 until 2007. In 2007 again found a new owner and home in Michigan. I purchased it from the last owner (know him personally) here in Michigan.
The condition of the car is above average for it's age. When it was purchased new it was undercoated (see pictures), so the under-body is free of rust and rot. The car received a complete paint job at some point (either the Iowa or Illinois owner). There are no reported accidents on Car Fax which leads me to believe a previous owner wanted to freshen up the factory paint job. The only exterior issues are on the front bumper which are minor. It looks as if someone cut it too close pulling in or out of the garage and rubbed it. I have the correct paint and ability to fix it, but it's in storage and I'm not pulling it out to repair unless it's a contingency of the sale. During it's life in Michigan the car has been a nice day cruiser and always garage kept.
The interior shows little to no wear, the seat bolsters are not broken down, no rips or tears. The dash pad and arm rest are not cracked or damaged. All of the dash lights work, as well as the hatch & gas door release. The carpet is clean and free of wear, even the cargo cover is intact, although the return spring doesn't work as well as it use to. It also has the factory T-top bags and hold down. The only non-original interior items are the floor mats and radio (dash was not hacked up).
The engine, transmission and rear axle are unmodified. The only modifications I have found is a new radiator and aftermarket catalytic convertor. On Car Fax it's reported to have failed Illinois emissions testing, so this may be the reason for the catalytic convertor, of course that is pure speculation.
Since the vehicle has been in Michigan it has been maintained at a local Ford dealership.
My car is a nice example of a Fox-body Mustang that has been kept in near original form and hasn't been beat on like a rented mule. This is not a Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance winner, but it wouldn't have any problem drawing attention at your local car shows or just pop the T-tops out and enjoy a nice cruise.
*I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells outside of E-bay*

*I forgot to add in the description that one muffler has been replaced. It is a Ford muffler, but it's not the factory installed one.
