Car description

This beautiful '65 T-Bird is moderately priced and looking to go home with someone who is willing to give her the love she needs to be a complete, and far more valuable restoration. Her previous owner bought her and invested a lot of time and money replacing and upgrading tons of parts and changing her color to black with a sumptuous red interior. Her previous owner got about 90% done with his vision before he ran out of gas and decided to sell her.
I bought her three years ago with the intension of finishing the job, but have not had the time needed with family and new job. She has been an absolute joy to own just as she is, perfectly drivable, very reliable, and an absolute head-turner.
With that being said, she needs some work thrown at her to be complete. Here is a list of items and jobs needed.-Doors, windows, fenders, front and rear deck lids all need fitment adjustments-Convertible top needs adjustment to function with dash switch. Top operates by operating each Magnecraft relay individually.-Gages dont work-Missing front bumperettes, trunk floor liner, spare tire, jack-Has new A/C system, needs installation-Has two medium dents on the rear deck where the rams began to push before the lid was released-Needs general tidying up of wires and hydraulic lines in the trunk
Now for all the new/modern parts that have been replaced.-Perfect and new Cal Lite glass all around (non tinted)-New red carpet kit with embroidered maching floor mats -New door card-New seats front and rear with red pleather (perfect condition, soft and supple, no tears)-New red seat belts front and rear-New black top with perfectly clear and soft vinyl rear window made by Cal Glass-New red sun visors-Perfect condition red dash board (no cracks at all)-Functioning am/fm radio with a hidden aftermarket aux input for your iPod-New Classic Auto Air air conditioning system (compressor need to be installed and system charged)-New Cougars Unlimited sequential blinker system (works perfectly)-New True Spoke chromed wire wheels (x4)-American Classic white wall tires (x4)-New exhaust-New gas tank-New master cylinder and brake booster and rear drums-Fender skirts-Excellent chrome all around-New hydraulic pump, lines and cylinders-New Magnecraft relays and solenoids for convertible top-Lots of extra new parts and left overs from the build-Includes an extra NEW black convertible top kit (unused in the box)-New unmounted embelems and blank Thunderbird keys-New Vin plate (all numbers are correct and true)
This T-Bird was reported to have 71,000 original miles on the Thunderbird registry. The previous owner claimed to have rebuilt the original 390 engine and transmission. Though I have no paperwork to support this, I do believe it to be true based on the older photographs taken during the restoration showing a fresh engine in place, and how well she starts up and runs. The odometer now shows about 1,400 miles and I believe it to be the accurate mileage for the rebuild. The photos clearly show fresh items such asHeadsDistributorWater PumpEdelbrock DistributorEdelbrock intake manifold
Currently the biggest job needed is to to have a knowledgeable T-Bird mechanic go through the convertible top system and get everything adjusted correctly. There are many limit switches that need to be in perfect alignment to function correctly. Currently the top is perfectly functional by operating each individual relay (each has its own switch on its top). The rear deck lid has been detached from its hydraulic cylinders until the screw locks are adjusted and operate correctly. The damage done to the rear deck from the cylinders was not witnessed by me, but the previous owner stated it had to do with the cylinders beginning their function before the screw locks released the lid. The damage is not terribly noticeable, but will require a paint and body man to fix it. Should not be a big job to fix. No structural damage occurred.
Thats about it, I feel confident you will love this car so long as you understand its needs as stated. I have a lot more photos available and would be happy to FaceTime you to listen to her run.Thank you for looking!
