Car description

Up for sale is an original 1966 Mustang GT Fastback that has been in storage since 1975 (car still wears the 1975 PA registration on the windshield). The previous owner bought the car in 1975-76 and put it in storage until I bought it last year. The odometer currently reads 47,449 which I believe to be true, but cannot guarantee. I have a copy of the original PA title from when it as sold that also shows the mileage at 47k.
The car is a factory GT as evidenced by the PIO stamped into the original Metuchen buck tag screwed to the driver's side rear fender apron. The car also has the GT fog lights/switch, quick ratio steering, disc brakes, dual exhaust reinforcements in floor pans, dual exhaust hangers, and GT rear valance. Additionally the car came equipped with power steering, pony interior, & styled steel wheels..

The previous owner recently put on a new fuel pump & radiator as well as rebuilt the carb so he was able to run the car off a gas can (because the fuel in the tank was too old). HOWEVER, I did not try to start the car given that some wires were not hooked up and I do not know the general condition of the wires. That said, I was able to turn the crankshaft easily with a 1/2" ratchet. The car is very original and restoreable.
It appears that there may have been a minor front end collision since the hood, front valance, driver's fender and the radiator support have been replaced. The fender is an original 65 fender (vs. 66) and the rad support is from a 64.5. Other than that I believe that all the other sheet metal appears to be original. The interior looks to be completely original. I have the rear window moldings that are not on the car and they will come with the car. I have posted a lot more photographs on Cardomain. Just search on member 65shelby and one of my Rides listed is this 1966 Mustang.
With respect to condition (going from the front to back):The front fenders, front valance, and hood look to be in great condition with no rust repair needed. The passenger side front apron will need to be patched where it rusted thru under the battery tray. The doors are very nice, but there may be some small patching needed in the lower front exterior corner (where most doors rust). HOWEVER, the inner corners and seams are very solid. The floors of the car will probably need some patching. I have not taken out the carpet, but I know there is some rust through in the back seat floor behind the drivers seat. The pass side rear seat looks a little soft. The front floors look pretty good. The lower rear quarters behind the wheels and outer wheelhouses will need some minor patches. HOWEVER, I would not replace them. The trunk floors and rear frame rails look to be in great condition with NO bubbling.
I have attempted to describe the vehicle as I would want to have it described to me. That said, there are no warranties neither explicit nor implied. The car is sold "as is" where is. The buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for pickup/transportation. However, I will help where possible. The vehicle will be sold with a bill of sale and New York State transferrable registration (New York does not issue titles for pre 1973 vehicles. You take these items to your state DMV and they will issue you a Title for your State. Please contact with any questions. Arrangements can be made for Inspections.
