Car description |
---|
This wonderful 1948 Ford Super DeLuxe coupe had survived the test of time in very good order. The car spent most of its life in Texas and as a result, the body is original and completely rust free. Minor bruises, dings, scrapes and weathering to the factory applied paint all contribute to a natural patina that has become so popular. The 59A-B flathead V8 is original to the car and has benefited from a recent, complete rebuild with improved internals. This engine runs fantastic and produces lots of power and torque. The 3 speed manual Transmission was also fully rebuilt at that time. The radiator was re-cored with additional rows and a custom fabricated fan shroud was added to facilitate improved cooling efficiency. Other driveline recent services include Brakes, Lines, Suspension and Clutch. All the the gauges operate properly as do the lights and switches. The car rides on 4 fresh steel belted radial tires mounted on the factory steel wheels with hubcaps. The optional heater is fully operational as is the AM radio. There is an accessory spot light that also works correctly. The interior is highly original and presents with minor wear and aging but is very comfortable and welcoming. The body is amazingly rust free and clean. Even the underside is rust free and original. As an additional benefit, there are numerous spares and restoration parts included in the trunk with this sale.
This coupe is a joy to drive and instantly transports you back to a simpler place in time. If your looking to celebrate this era in automotive history, this may be the right car for you.
