1959 ford fairlane Galaxie 500 in more than decent shape. some of the pics of the car in the field were before I got it. I have it home now. all cleaned up. and in the garage. this car is pretty clean) I don't know too much about it . but ill tell you what I do know and if there are any questions please ask. This car has a V-8 in it. may be the original 352. but not for sure. the transmission is an Automatic transmission. (not original to car) This car was originally a 3 speed car. (the clutch pedal is still in it). The motor starts and runs good. ounds beefy too. but it does have a little white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipes( they exit out of the sides. before the rear wheels). it may be bad gas though the car has been sitting for a little over a year. and the carb looks like it could be rebuilt. the oil in the engine looks great. nbsp; And the transmission does shift and back up. but the trans. fluid is pink and may need to be gone through. ( water in trans maybe?) It has had a little body work done on it. probably around the 90's or early 2000's. is some rust popping through around lower fenders by door. no major rust in any of the floor or underneath that I could see other than the spare tire hole. that there is a rust hole. The front lip of the hood is starting to bubble as well . MOST of the chrome is there. what is missing is the rear bumper. the rear trunk "V" Both the "clam shell" bumper extensions. nbsp;the lower pass door piece trim strip. and the driver side chrome strip on the quarter panel. there is a little damage on the right rear lower quarter washboard. ikie it was just pulled out. JUST the washboard part though. the body is NOT damaged under the washboard or anywhere. the chrome does have some pitting in it. not real bad though. Also missing are the 2 front turn signals in the front bumper. ( I was going to put fog light in those holes. and get new headlights that have the turn signal light IN the headlights). the battery tray was rusted and removed. I do have the "galaxie" chrome pieces that goes on the upper rear quarter panels. This car was a really really cool cruiser not too long ago. and wont need much to get back on the road. The car is painted PEARL WHITE with some of the original chrome removed and the holes were filled in with putty. such as fender ornaments. and lower rocker trim. The interior has aftermarket bucket seats in the front that are in good shape. the headliner needs replaced. and door panels aren't the best. . he original steering wheel is gone and replaced with a 1990's type ford steering wheel. the original steering column is still there. . the radio is missing. there is a center console out of another car that looks really good in this hot rod. the winsheild IS cracked. as well as the driver side window. all 4 windows work perfect and roll down with ease. has some nice mag wheels. the tires however are dry rotted and need replaced. I put a new master cyl. on it . the car does stop. but i've never driven on road. just up and down the driveway. I do not know what gear is in this car. It has traction bars on the rear and has a nice hot rod stance to it. this would be a really cool cruiser. it wont need too much to be road worthy.
