Offered for sale is a 1969 Ford Ranchero S-Code, 390 4V, auto trans, power steering, power disc brakes and factory in dash air conditioning. ****Life long California car dry and rust free. The upper control arms have been lowered 1 inch per Shelby spec and the entire vehicle has a 2 inch drop from stock. ** Is it clean and tidy top to bottom inside and out!
The reason this vehicle has a salvage title is back in the 80s it was donated to a charity which closed down before they sold off their vehicles and then it was given to Pick-a-Part auto salvage. They are the ones that sold it as a complete vehicle to its new owner at the time. Hence ending up with a salvage title but in no way was this Ranchero wrecked or totaled or justified for any reason to have a salvage title other that it came from Pic-a-Part and that's the long and the short of it.
I am listing this vehicle for the elderly gentleman who has owned it for last 30 years and for whom I have maintained for since the year 2000. And you can contact me directly on my cell phone for more pertinent information, 949 - 212 - 8697.
All of the photographs seen here have been taken within the last six weeks. Some of which show the recent engine and transmission overhaul installation. Being the meticulous owner he has been he wanted everything to be tight right before offering it for sale and that is why the engine and transmission were just rebuilt.
The engine rebuilding was done at L&R machine in Santa Fe Springs California. The 390 has the complete Edelbrock performer package. Consisting of camshaft, lifters, timing chain, valve springs, intake manifold, 600 CFM carburetor and even the air cleaner. The heads were match ported as well. The engine builder estimates 375 hp and when you drive it you believe it. MSD distributor, coil and plug wires. Huge custom-made radiator and electric fan.
Being the infamous S-code it is built just like a 69 Mustang would be. 390 4V, C-6 transmission & 9 inch 3.00 gear rear end. It has been updated and converted to integral power steering, no more of that hang under the car crap along with having a much better road feel. Factory power disc brakes and in dash air conditioning converted to R134 and a modern compressor and blows ice cold. ** Also has been converted to 1970 bolt in window regulator mechanisms,no more glued in windows that so famously failed on the '68&"69!
The paint job is about 10 years old with a few minor touch ups and still looks great, no rust in the floor pans or bed which is been coated. Has an old-school light weight fiberglass bed cover. The complete interior was redone less then two years ago and sports original bucket seats done in vinyl and cloth.
The last two photographs show the two worst things about this Ranchero. 1. crack in paint around one of the hood locks 2. some heat distortion on the top of the dash pad. If you are familiar with the 68 & 69 Rancheros you will not be disappointed with this one. A truckload of money has been spent on this vehicle over several years resulting in a complete restoration and we feel that our asking price is more than fair considering it's the not often seen "S-code".
It is always best to see a car in person before you purchase it and that is why we are offering a $400 rebate off the sale price of the vehicle. To cover transportation cost to come see in person. If you buy the vehicle we will take $400 off the agreed price to help cover your cost. However if you come view the car and don't buy it, sorry no refund.
But regardless please make every effort to contact through e-mail or phone before you would buy so there will be no misunderstandings on what you will be receiving. Thank you for your interest, Bill.
