This auction is for the sale of the engine, transmission, and accessories mentioned NOT the vehicle. The restoration was about 4 years ago, completely disassembled frame-off, painted and replaced everything, then reassembled. I mention this because I have no records to substantiate the engine work, but one would assume from the appearance of the vehicle and the engine, the engine was also done at that time. I will guarantee the engine and transmission meets your satisfaction. I mention 4,000 miles because the previous owner.
It is a 390 [Z-code] hydraulic cam, with the addition of 406 heads, tri-power carburetion, and factory shorty exhaust headers. I soon had trouble with the carburetors so they have been rebuilt with the good gaskets, valves, brass floats, and new throttle shafts and bushings. The Holley 2300 carbs have a reputation for warping which will allow un-metered fuel to be inducted which has been remedied; see the photo.
The oil pan gasket leaks; that is the only other issue I have found since I bought this in June 2017.
Why? A 427 is going in it's place. This would make a great up-grade for your 352 or whatever.
The car is in Naples, Florida; come and drive it, inspect it, kick the tires, whatever you want. However by springtime 2018 the car will be in northern Maryland for the 427 transplant. The engine would be available there for inspect and pick up. Shipping and crating is up to the purchaser.
I am also selling my 1961 Ford Galaxie Starliner, HI-PO 401HP with the correct engine, just rebuilt. See my other listing soon.
