Car description

1968 Ford Mustang FastbackFully Restored Nut and BoltOver 85K Invested in the Build
This is your opportunity to buy a car that is finished, needs nothing and will save you tens of thousands over restoring, is built correctly, and you won't have to wait a year or two to have a car built. This car was purchased by a very good customer of mine and he has owned it for about a year, the only reason he is selling is to make room for a new car he has purchased. The collection has out grown his garage so something has to go, he is selling others as well that I'll list later, a 65 Cobra CSX car as well as a hand built 33 Ford Hotrod that we built at my shop Grubbs Motorsports. Anyway, that is the backstory on why this car is for sale, it is immaculate and will win every show you enter it in. The restoration was done on a rotisserie, no bolt was left untouched, fully disassembled and stripped to achieve a show finish on every side of the car. The underside has had any rust replaced with new sheetmetal and the body is sold. This car started life as a fastback with a 302 and a 4 barrel. That is what is in the car now, I'm not sure if the numbers match but I do know that the engine is well tuned and runs perfect. We tuned it at our shop and it starts perfectly, one pump in the morning, a couple of minutes of warm up time and she is ready to turn heads. If you were to find a decent fastback project you'd pay around 15-20K, after stripping it, paint and body, drivetrain rebuild, interior, trim, chrome, etc, etc, you'd be in this car for over 100K if I were to build it at my shop. So save yourself the struggle and buy a car with all the bugs worked out all the work done, all you have to do is drive and maintain it.The body:Very clean lines, great gaps, no rust or issues. The paint is a 9 out of 10 and I'd put the bodywork in that range as well. All the doors, hood and trunk open and close with ease, nice and solid. The windows work as they should and everything on the exterior is functional, lights, wipers, blinkers, horn, etc. The paint is Wimbledon White and the C stripe is in black. The fit and finish is very nice, much better than factory was in 1968.The suspension:Factory all the way including disc brakes up front, drums in back, power assist on the brakes and they work perfectly, no pull or issues. The leaf springs are new and stock type, new shocks, new brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank is new as well. The front suspension is stock but all new, stock ride height and it handles great, manual steering but it is easy to drive, anybody can drive this car.The drivetrain:302 Ford engine backed by a 4 speed toploader manual transmission. The clutch pedal requires minimal effort to push, not rock hard like some of these cars, easy to drive in traffic. The rearend is the stock 8" Ford rearend that came in the car, I'm not 100% sure what gears are in it but I'd estimate a 3.50 ratio, nice in town or on the highway. The engine is a mild performance build that is all new, from the top, new Quickfuel 600 CFM double pumper carb tuned to the car, jetted correctly. The intake is an Edelbrock, MSD ready to run electronic distributor, no points, starts perfect. The heads are aluminum and it has a hydraulic cam that has a mild lope to it, not too choppy but gives it that great muscle car sound at idle. The car has headers and a nice dual exhaust system that sounds great at any speed.
Overall I'd put this car at a 9 out of 10, the restoration is great, the car performs and runs great, I see a lot of cars pass through the shop and most of them aren't near this nice. As with any car I sell I make myself available by phone to talk about it, 469-387-9796 and my name is Michael. You are most welcome to have it inspected or come by and see it. This car will easily finance through any old car provider like JJ Best, the car needs nothing and can be driven home if you choose to do so. I will deal with dealers, individuals, or anyone, but all money will clear my bank before the car leaves. You must pay for shipping if you choose to ship it, I will help load it. The car is right and you won't be disappointed. Call or email with questions. Good luck.
