We sell all cars as-is, which means the buyer is responsible for any and all repairs, according to the Ohio Buyer's Guide. Remember: it's the buyer's responsibility to inspect the car before bidding. When you view the pictures of the vehicle, make sure you look at them on a large screen to ensure that you can see all attributes of the car. Good luck to all bidders.
Thank you for looking at our 1971 Ford Galaxie 500. This car has a 400 V8 engine with a two-barrel, air, and all options on the car are shown on the Flickr slideshow below on the original window sticker. I bought this car from a gentleman who was selling this car for his brother who is now deceased. He purchased this car late in 1971, drove it for two years, and in 1973 he parked it in his garage, never to be driven again. It remained there until Spring of 2017. This car was in storage for 44 years, which is remarkable.
When the brother took the car out of storage, he replaced the battery, tuned the car up, changed the oil, antifreeze, brake fluid and a couple other minor things and the car was driveable again. He put 4,000 miles on the car over the summer, and it runs and drives 100%. It still has all the original brakes and the original exhaust system (the muffler has a small hole but it isn't loud). Everything else in the car is also original. It has the original floormat in the front from 1971. When we cleaned the car to put it on eBay, the carpeting in the car was so clean we never had it shampooed. The inside of the car still looks like it belongs back in the showroom from 1971.
The body on the car still looks excellent, even though there could be a few scratches and nicks around the car from sitting in a garage for 44 years. This car comes with the original bill of sale, the original window sticker, all owners manuals and original paperwork. Whoever buys this car can fly into Cleveland and drive it home. The underneath of the car was also rustproofed when it was new, and in the pictures all you can see is the rustproofing protection on the vehicle and no rust.
The gentleman that bought this car was planning on keeping it for the rest of his life, not realizing that the car would outlive him. Before he put the car away in 1973, he took a spraycan and went into the trunk for better protection, which he did not have to do. But rather than us respackling the car trunk, we left it exactly the way it was so the new buyer can see exactly what he or she is buying and respecting that the owner had to inspect this car and keep it as perfect as he could forever.
If you look at the original paperwork, you'll see the last name of the purchaser is the same as the person we bought the car from. It went from brother to brother, so this makes this car a 100% legitimate family owned car, and really, a one owner car because the brother was not keeping it but he had to put it in his name for the will. The winning bidder will become the second owner of this classic. Air conditioning does not work because the air conditioner compressor is frozen. The new owner will have to send it out, get it freed up and put back on the car to enjoy the air conditioning next summer.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL BIDDERS!
