Car description

This car is an original Highland green 390 S code 4 speed car with deluxe interior. That is a rare combination and it has some rare options. According to the Marti Report and statistics there was only 35 built with this color interior combo. It is a very rare car. I planned on keeping it for myself but have decided to sell it now. The pictures in the add are a combination of pictures with Bullitt style wheels and new tires and a set of original Chrome GT wheels and new tires. The winning bidder gets to choose the set of wheels and tires they want on the car. If you wanted both sets that could be arranged for more money. Talk to me if you are the winning bidder. It has a rebuilt 390 engine with early(8E) 428 CJ heads, C7AE PI Al. intake and Edelbrock carb. The factory chrome valve covers and a 67 Shelby factory duel point distributor, Headers and new duel exhaust system with Ford original rolled exhaust tips. It has a new Clutch, pressure plate and rebuilt top loader 4 speed with a Hurst shifter and 9 inch rear end with a 3:50 gear ratio. All the brakes are new and rebuilt. This car has the big block heater guard still on it and has the 3 inch driveshaft and big block 4 speed cross member. This being a late 68 car it has the wrap around shock tower reinforcement plates like the R codes had. Those are all very hard to find parts. Upper ball joints and lower control arms were installed. So far I replaced the heater core and foam kit and defrost hoses and new heater plenum and a new battery and fan belts as well as a new fan shroud and radiator support seal. The car runs well and drives and stops good. The factory power steering works well. It is very fast, If Steve McQueen had used this Bullitt car in the movie the chase scene would have been a lot shorter. The interior is original except for new carpet and headliner and instrument bezel and kick panels and new sun visors. I added the fold down rear seat because I like fold down rear seats. All the lights inside and out work. The original tach and instruments all work as well as the dash lights and radio. Bidders are encouraged to come inspect the car and drive it before bidding, if you do you will buy it. The inner fender has vin number stamped on it and it matches the original buck plate tag and the windshield VIN as well as the Marti report. The door tag is missing and I did not order a reproduction one yet. The engine and transmission are probably not the ones that came in the car. It does have a C6ME block and I was told it was bored 30 over when they rebuilt it. The C80E -6090 Cobra jet heads have 8E dates on them. Please call me if you are interested in this car and ask all the questions you would like about the car before bidding. I have owned, restored, and been driving 67-8 mustangs for 40 years and I will tell you the truth about everything I know about this one. It is still however being sold as is with no warranty. If you have low feedback or transactions call before you bid or I will kick out your bid. This is a good car that you can enjoy the way it is and drive it and enjoy it as a survivor or Restore it back to perfection without having to run down all the hard to find stuff. Please call before you bid with any questions you have. I have many more pictures I can email you if you need them and are a serious buyer. I require a two thousand dollar deposit within 48 hours of auction end. and the balance within 7 days after that. The car needs to be picked up within two weeks of the end of Auction unless we speak and make other arrangements. I will assist in loading the car for a shipper but the cost of shipping is the buyers responsibility. Funds have to clear and be in my hand before the car is picked up. I have a clear title in my name. There is no buy it now price. If you want to purchase the car early you will have to speak to me and make an offer. Once the car reaches the reserve I will not sell early. Here is your chance to own a real Highland Green 390 4 speed "Bullitt" that runs like one . Don't settle for some C code car painted up to look like the real thing. This car I promise you will do nothing but go up in value. Remember call before you bid if you have any questions.
