1940 Ford 2dr Deluxe coupe project car in good condition. As I was told this is a three owner car that has spent most of it's life inside. The previous owner had it stored in his shop for many years and realized he would never complete it.Heprepped the body for paint (including the louvered hood) primed the exterior and started painting the interior black and that is where he stopped. The frame is the original frame and it is unmolested and has only surface rust. The running gear is from a 48 Ford and was only used to move the car around in the shop. His intent was to use a drop axle front suspension and 9" Ford for the rear but no work was done to complete this. So the frame is an open canvas. The body work that was completed is good and would only require some freshening up on one of the rear fenders. He had removed the trunk latch and also moved the tank filler neck into the trunk. All new glass has been cut and ready with the necessary rubber gaskets already purchased. The stainless trim is in good condition as is the front grill. He also had the new rubber covers for the running boards. No through rust in the floors but the firewall was cut to make room for a distributor on the motor he had intended to use. I purchased two bumpers with the intent of using them on this car and they go with the vehicle along with two extra rear fenders that need some work. This car has been in air conditioned storage in my office for the last 4 years. This is a great start on an incredible year for street rods. No major body issues to deal with and the body is all the original steel. No fiberglass or reproductions here.
