Car description

This auction is for a one-owner(non-smoker) 1983 Ford 250 HD, V-8 four wheel drive, manual locking hubs. No rust that I can see. My company name is still on the doors and the word "Muffy" is on the front of the engine hood (Muffy was my old English sheep dog). Trucktire's are Goodyear Wrangler LT235/85R-16 load range E. Tires are almost new with about 2000 miles on them. Truckhasapproximately 72,000 miles on it. I was the only person who ever drove the truck. Their is a small oil drip which I think isfrom the rear main bearing. Probably from sitting in storage severalyears with only a few mile's added on it each year. The truck has an automatic transmission. When I purchased the truck in 1983, I told Ford I wanted a transmission that is geared for pulling heavy trailers and it does.It has the heaviest suspension Ford could put on the truck.I had the pump(transmission) replacedat about62,000 miles. Also, at about 69,000 miles, I had the carburetor rebuilt at the local Ford garage. Not a term ones hears to often but now it starts better than when it was new, or so it seems. And, the head-light hi-low switch is still on the floor.Truck has two gas tanks. One tank has, I believe a defective sending unit.Engine has two coolant heaters. Battery is new, installed about two years ago.Truck has mud-flaps. The glove box has a lite inside it. There is a electric brake control on the truck for a trailer. The engine hood unlocks with a key from inside the cab. On the passenger side seat belt, their is a smalldent in it.lalwaysused the local Ford dealership for any work including grease and oil changes.I replaced thewindshield washer pump some time back but it still does notwork. I believe the spray nozzles on the hood are plugged with body wax. There is a service light under the hood which comes on when you raise the hood but the switch inside the light needs a little attention and these little things I have not been able to do. I have always had a cover over the seat. I pulled part of it back so one can see the seat fabric.Looks like new.The floorI did the same. The tail gate had a piece of plasticliner used for protection, installed by Ford when the truck was new. Over the years, the screw hole'swore outand surface rust was starting to formunderneath the tail gate liner. I took thepaint codeand the tail gate to a local body shop that does quality work. Looks great but the "sparkle" in the paint is not there. Still looks great and I do not think it is that noticeable. I call the paint "Metallic Green". Iwas told that color was no longer available. I had planed on showing the truck at the Iola Car Showeach year but health issues has prevented me from doingthat an that is the reason I am selling it.On the drivers side door, the storage pocket at the bottom developed a small crack on the lip so I put a brass rod underneath the lip with brass machine screws. (see picture) The snow plow is a Western, Model 603-81, 7'6"wideplow installed by the local Ford dealership and was used by me for two wintersand used only for plowing my business parking lotand has been stored since. As it has not been used for severalyears, I do not know how it will function. It worked ok when I put it in storage. The plow looks like new. I have installed flasherunits for the front head-lights andtail lights. Right now, I haveremoved the fuse'sso they do not work. I would recommend trailering the truckto its new location. I can load the plow onto the back of the truck but buyer will need tie-down web straps to the eye-bolts on the bed. The truck will only be driven by the new owner after payment has cleared my bank which will take 5-7 bank working days. For a used vehicle with low mileage and good condition, I feel this truck is one that is hard to find.I guess I would say I "babied" this truck.
