Car description |
---|
1965 Ford Thunderbird base model, PS, PB, PW, no AC, 114,000 miles, far from mint, but not bad.
Body - spent all of its life in the Tri-State / New England area, some rust as a result, never in rain or snow since i've owned (32 years), older restoration starting to bubble, lower fenders, doors and quarters have bondo, floors patched from the underside with stainless plates, inner quarters, trunk floor, wheel houses and kick panels not to bad, doors, hood and trunk lid open and close properly, Skirts included.
Mechanics - car currently has a 1969 390 2V motor (starts and runs well), Cruise-O-Matic 3 speed automatic (shifts nice), rebuilt Motorcraft 2100 carb, original rear (non-posi, 3.00 ratio), included are the original 390 4V motor (not sure why it was remove but it is pretty sludgy) and extra '65 Cruise-O-Matic (condition unknown), brake master cylinder, front rotors and some brake lines replaced at some point, front calipers rebuilt, rears OK. Front end OK.
Recent work done - new exhaust, exhaust manifolds machined, battery tray, battery (needs hold down), steering column rebuilt, new fuel tank and sender, fuel pump, new door window motors, rebuilt vent window cranks, new tires (5), electronic rear signal sequencer, new fender signal indicators, new aluminum radiator (not installed)
Needs - Rear end pinion gear seal and passenger axle seals seeping and will need to be replaced at some point, steering box has some play, but OK. Fuel tank sender needs to be replaced, the grommet seeps when tank is over 1/2 full.
Overall, nice car for cruisingaround, car is complete and runs / drives / stops very well, all lights, gauges, speedo and accessories work as they should (except for the original AM radio that takes forever to warm up)
Anyone seriously interested should look the car over in person, no tire kickers please
No title, bill of sale only, buyer responsible for pick up / shipping
Any questions, just ask. Thanks for looking!
