1967 Ford Mustang FastbackOriginal C Code 289 V8This is a 1 owner fastback with excellent pedigree, and the most beautiful, uncut body I have ever seen. This car does not have ANY bondo on it. This car has NEVER had any rust and spent its' entire life with the original owner in sunny Southern California.
The car was originally purchased at Beverly Hills Ford 9231 W Olympic Blvd, Beverly Hills CA by Lucy Atkins who had a very specific vision when she ordered her Mustang. Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, factory disc brakes were a must, for good measure. Legend says that the Ford dealer laughed at her in wanting a "luxury" Mustang.
In the fall of 1967 her super optioned 67 Fastback with Power Steering, Cruise O Matic C4 Transmission, Power brakes with factory Kelsey Hayes 4 piston disc brakes, and air conditioning.
When the car was originally delivered, Mrs. Atkins scoffed, her Candy Apple Red special order Mustang was Spring Time Yellow. She demanded her deposit back and a Candy Apple Red car delivered. They showed her the new 68's and she hated the marker lights, so to Beverly Hills Ford paint shop the brand new Mustang went, where, when it was brand new, was painted candy apple red, the salesman was fired for checking the wrong box on the order form, and life went on.
In the fall of 1969, the now Mrs. Atkins was pregnant and could no longer drive her beloved Mustang, so as individuals with substantial means, the Mustang was stored in lieu of traded in.
The Mustang was sparingly driven through the 1970's and 80's because Mrs. Atkins considered the car "outdated".
The car was stored from the mid 1980's until the mid 2000's when her son inherited the car and commissioned a complete mechanical rebuild on the car, lodging a paltry 28,000 miles. The original 289 was rebuilt, the 2bbl was tossed in lieu of a aluminum intake and a 4 barrel carb, the original camshaft was shelved in lieu of a slightly hotter cam, but still pulled good for vacuum. The original C4 was rebuilt, with a mild shift kit, the rear end was upgraded to a 4 spider posi unit with 3.25 gears. Everything was rebuilt, stainless steel sleeved Kelsey Hayes Calipers, all gauges were dialed in as well as the speedometer. Candidly, every light bulb on this car works, every gauge, every interior light. The A/C system was overhauled from condenser to evaporator, not one screw was left untouched on this exceptional low mile Mustang.
There is only one way to describe the interior, immaculate. From headliner to carpet, seats to door panels, it looks showroom new.
The Candy Apple red paint that was applied in the winter of 1967 is still on the car, with absolutely zero rust. It is actually very nice! Great shine to it, imagine the nicest 50 year old paint job, kept as nice as it possibly could be, in the best climate, for 50 years, that is what we have here.
I bought this car off of the Mr. Atkins estate, with over $38,000 on mechanicals spent on this Mustang, I would not be afraid to drive this absolutely leak free car anywhere, at anytime.
I have put approx 2000 trouble free miles on this car, I have owned more 1967 Fastbacks than Beverly Hills Ford, and this car, is candidly, the nicest driving 67 Fastback in existence. The brakes stop effortlessly, and straight, the engine purrs like a aggravated sewing machine, does not get over 190 degrees in 100 degree weather with the A/C on in bumper to bumper afternoon traffic on the 405 freeway.
This Mustang has so much going for it, the excellent mechanical restoration, the super low miles, the 102% rust and damage free body, the options!!!!!! Power steering, ok...power brakes...nice...power disc brakes...wow....air conditioning....holy cow!
You can take your A Code and S codes and shove em. If you want a car you can get in and drive in comfort, anytime, anywhere, on demand...this is it. With the most investment quality always 100% rust free body...this car is it...you want to get in and drive this car. It is never a hassle or inconvenience! Drive this car daily if you want, it is likely more reliable than your Lexus...seriously.
Look at my feedback, I have a reputation for selling exactly what I describe, and this car is no different.
This is the one you've been looking for.
I have all documentation for everything on this car, and recently had it enclosed shipped to my house near Chicago, which is where you would pick it up, or have it shipped from.
