I am the original first owner of this VW Rabbit/Golf Cabriolet since 1989. I bought it brand new in May of 1989 and it was always "our pet car". never a daily driver. It is not "concurs perfect". but very nice compared to all those redone cars. It was never run-down and then brought back up. Inspection stations (plural) make a big compliment when they see it. if that says something to you. The price is based on comparable older VW Beetles that are by far not as good driving vehicles as this one. It reflects the original one owner condition and I have ALL documentation. including original sales sticker. We to find an appreciated home. not someone who takes it for speculation and resale. HAGERTY classic/specialty car insurance had no problem to insure it for $14. 00 full comprehensive/collision coverage. If you or your wife. daughter. or son had one of these new in the 80's/90's it will take you right back to that time. Driving our Cabriolet is as good as they were new and you can be seriously proud of. It is and was never meant to be a "Garage Queen". It has been used regularly and has no "non use damages". Everything works as it is supposed to be. The interior is 100% original. clean. and not torn; nothing cracked. all as it was in 1989. I use seat covers right now to protect the original cloth from being exposed to harsh sunlight. It has been repainted with the correct tornado red paint. and clear coat was added to keep the paint longer in good shape. The top was replaced about 6 years ago. The car has been garaged and was never used in snow. nbsp; just very rarely in rain when we got caught in a shower. An original VW Radio AM/FM/Tape is installed. The car has brand new matching tires on its OEM 14" Snowflake rims. I have special imported 15" wider European Italian wheels on it from the 80's that can be negotiated to come with it. The ONLY set in the US. There are rare and "time correct" aftermarket pieces on it (KAMEI headlight spoiler and KAMEI wind blocker). that were installed right after I bought it. They can be easily removed to give it the totally original look. I have also the original trunk emblems "VW and Cabriolet" that are not installed at the present time. I am not going to write a much longer essay here. nor will I post a lot of pictures. I will sell it to someone who is sincerely interested to keep this Cabriolet for him/herself. or give it as a present to a family member. Contact me if you are seriously interested.
