Car description |
---|
This is a clean example of the period of one of the most iconic cars Ford made. It captured the hearts of America, brought people into Ford showrooms so they could see it first hand. Designed to compete with Chevrolet's Corvette, Ford's Thunderbird was more sporty cruiser than serious sports car. Despite its powerful V-8 engine & sleek silhouette, the T-bird was more at home on the boulevard than the racetrack. The 1957 Ford Thunderbird has been a collector car almost since its introduction. 1957 would be the third and final year for the original two passenger Thunderbird, and some feel the 1957 year was the best one yet. After 57 Ford would do away with the two seater sporty personal car. This is a beautiful car, it starts and runs and has been kept stored in a climate controlled Hangar. All of the gauges and radio work, but the clock and a/c does not. It does have a Holly Carb and runs on leaded gasoline. The bottom side is still original, so needs to be cleaned or restored. This is one that is sure to turn heads!
