This 1969 Chevrolet C10 Half (1/2) Ton short wheel base step side pickup is about as original as you'll find one. From sunny Great Falls. Montana. it's never seen salted roads or experienced winter driving. Still. as you can see. both cab corners are rusted out as is the driver's side rocker panel. typical rust areas on this model pickup. The GM model number when this truck was new was CS10704. The serial number to this pickup is CS149J864413. The odometer registers 64. 69 miles and is believed to be accurate; the odometer and speedometer both function properly as do the temperature and alternator lights; a manual volt meter was added later. I have clear. unbranded. merchantable Montana title in my possession. My guess is that this truck once belonged to a local agricultural or county agency. I say that because it was once equipped with an antenna for a two-way radio. I've known about this truck for about 25 years during which time it was stored and only occasionally driven. I am a long-time licensed. bonded. insured Montana used vehicle dealer (UD0214) with no infractions on my record. ever. If this pickup doesn't sell for what I hope to receive. I will keep and restore it. Equipped from new with Heavy Duty Front and Rear Springs. it has a 4:11 rear axle ratio with posi-traction. It was ordered with the side-mounted spare wheel carrier. a cigarette lighter. an AM radio. and a Heavy Duty Radiator. As you can see. the original radio was replaced with an after-market radio; I don't have its face plate. The brakes on all four wheels were just replaced including wheel cylinders as needed. The valve cover gasket was just replaced as well. and the carburetor completely overhauled. The automatic choke works perfectly; this truck starts right up and idles perfectly from the get-go. It has a new battery. new battery cables. new rear wheel seals. a new heater core. fresh anti-freeze. oil and air and oil filters. It starts and runs wonderfully with no click or clack. no smoke. and no smells. It just received a new clutch plate. pressure plate. throw out bearing and had the fly-wheel professionally re-surfaced at a local machine shop. The 4-speed transmission shifts smoothly and precisely every time. Both U-joints were just changed in the drive-shaft and numerous other minor adjustments have been made. Importantly. this pickup has factory equipped power steering. Typical for its age and for never having been restored. repainted or worked on. this pickup has numerous minor parking lot type dings. Still. the doors close smoothly and tightly. the windows roll up and down like the should. and both front windshield and rear window are perfect. Even the end-gate is in relatively decent condition. The inside of the pickup bed is wood and the wood needs to be replaced. There aren't holes in it and you can haul things without them falling through the bed floor. but the wood is dry and needs replaced. The original seat was re-upholstered many years ago and. while in good condition. it's the wrong color and type of fabric for this truck. The original rubber floor mat is excellent. way too nice to be replaced. and the original vinyl dash pad is near perfect. Both left and right floor vents open and close as they should. Undoubtedly. the hub caps furnished with this pickup are later model replacements. Still. they look nice and serve a purpose until correct caps can be found. The C10 emblems on both left and right front fenders are missing. The original grille has numerous minor imperfections as does the original chrome front bumper. The hood opens and closes smoothly as does the end gate. The headlights. both bright and dim. the turn signals. dash lights. tail lights. and back-up lights all work as they should. This pickup has been garaged throughout its entire life. This truck runs perfectly and will comfortably and safely drive anywhere you want to go. On Jan-27-15 at 18:36:44 PST. seller added the following information:When this vehicle was new. 17 digit serial numbers hadn't yet come about; that's why a vehicle report isn't available on this pickup through eBay. Also. this vehicle was originally equipped with the standard motor for 1969 Chevrolet pickups. a 250 cubic inch in-line six-cylinder non-fuel-injected engine; it is still so equipped. Note the original air-cleaner and all other original under-the-hood components. The horn doesn't presently work; it needs a new horn relay. Also. the new replacement heater core. which fits and functions perfectly. doesn't require the same support pieces the original heater core required. It still fits perfectly and is properly supported. but differently supported than when new. You can't see this from under the hood or inside the cab and not unless/until you separate the heater box under the hood The heater/defroster/fan controls inside the cab are in good condition and work well. As cold as Great Falls. Montana has been this winter. the heater/defroster on this pickup kept up and will blow you out of the cab. The wipers also work as they're supposed to but the wiper-washers need the hose to be reconnected to function as when new. The emergency brake works properly as do all four wheel brakes which. as described above. are new including some new wheel cylinders. If I think of anything else I've forgotten. I will add new data to future posts. Thanks!
