Car description

Watch the 2 you tube video's at bottom of page. Super Condition Truck that starts and drives great (steering wheel off center when driving). All Ford needs is a good exterior paint to look more dreamier than it already is. Mechanically Super. Suspension and Steering great (only minor rust that I can find in truck bed and a little around top of inside cab on passenger side) Story: Truck was purchased new by the Grandfather here in Western NC and he kept really good care of his possessions. When the engine started to smoke in 2004. he wouldn't replace the engine. he just had to do it properly and rebuild it. He also had all the rust cut off and fixed. and Transmission rebuilt. This is what we know of! When I drove it . the steering felt great. i believe the steering had been rebuilt because I had a 79 Lariat with steering rebuilt and this even turned better than that. 5000-6000 miles later he got sick and parked it in the barn. His son decided it wasn't for him and only put very few miles on it since! So the Grandson. decided to get it out of barn and give it life again. this is only in last 6 months. The grandson replaced Gas Tank. uel Pump. Fuel Lines. uel Filter. new Exhaust. arb Adjusted. uel Filter. new Battery and Fresh Gasoline because of the old gas had gone bad in the previous Gas Tank. The Brakes work as well as 1974 Brakes should. It takes a little to get used to pressing down hard on them to stop. but they work fine for being original. I drove it to the mechanic at my favorite oil change stop and the guy under truck changing the fluids and lubing the suspension was impressed on how clean the under carriage was. So I'm pretty sure based on condition it has always been garaged. I had the transmission Fluid & Oil change yesterday at cost of $125. 00. The rear differential color wasn't too dark. but recommended changing it after driving around a bit more. The truck starts immedietly after a few pumps of gas pedal like a new truck. In the mornings you have to hold down on pedal to keep engine going for about 20-30 seconds. It will idle high until its warms. hen you press on gas pedal and it goes back to normal idle. Here's some blemishes that I noticed. . The engine horn has been bi-passed and there is an aftermarket horn button. 2. The truck is wired to start in any gear. not sure why the grandfather wired it this way. 3. The Grandson attempted to fix grandpa's run in with a fence with some bondo and minor rust repair around rear bed-tailgate area. It probably caused more damage than good. 4. The truck has had 1 repaint since restoration 10 years ago with original color. but has faded pretty good. 5. Interior Drivers round handle knob is missing and Interior Drivers Door Handle is half broken off. 6. Bent rear bumper on right side. Misc Dings throughout. 1-2" ding on top of rear tailgate. long scratch across entire right side and bent in from hitting a fence. All trim intact and very little ding damage to trim work. 7. Temp gauge not working. All the Trim looks to be original and is all there. :) Also. the original am radio works fine. The interior weather stripping looks descent. Somebody must of replaced it in last 10-15 years. The interior paint looks new. i believe it was part of restoration at some point.
