Car description |

This truck has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned but, since a chronic back injury is forcing me to come to grips with a late stage career change outside of the construction trade, I should have a vehicle that's more suited towards meeting with associates, investors, or clients (whatever those are). I guess it's time that me and the ol' Ford work rig part ways. The following list of "cons" are mostly cosmetic, while the majority of "pros" are practical in nature. Together, they reinforce the "work rig" label. People shopping for a vehicle for just that purpose will be pleased with the truck's dependability and practicality and may even consider all its blemishes, idiosyncrasies, and customizations as so many character attributes. At the same time, those with higher aspirations who are looking for a "diamond-in-the-rough" that they could restore, rebuild, or "trick out" might be a bit disappointed by the sheer numbers of tiny spots that would need addressing.
CONs PROs
1. Dents, Dings, Scratches, and (non-cancerous)rust spots throughout 1. the world's most successful engine, the Ford 300 inline 6, 2.Sizable cracks in windshield the '94 F-150's were one of the last pickups to come equipped with 3. Large hole in bench seat under driver the "indestructible" icon of American ingenuity 4.No keys for locking/unlocking cab doors 2. New fuel pump and fuel filter 5. Rear barn doors need extra persuasion to latch shut 3. New wiper blades 6. Drivers side door handle broke off 4. Side access Gemtop "Workmaster" steel canopy with fully-opening 7. Worn ignition switch requires a bit of extra care by the driver to insure barn doors in back ($4500 new) that upon starting, the key does not remain in start, resulting in a 5. 2" ball hitch soft, unpleasant sound and that, when shutting the truck off, he or she 6. Die Hard "Gold" battery does not remove the keys and exit with switch remaining on "Acc" so 7. Dual gas tanks that the clock, heater, fan, radio, etc pop back on thereby, when 8. Custom 4X4 wood beam lumber rack w/ 2X4 fillers occurring on a Friday evening followed by a weekend where it's not 9. Decent spare tire driven, would likely result in the owner starting out their Monday 10. Rubber bed liner morning looking for a jump. 11. Built-in metal shelf unit with ten 5"WX 11.5"D drawers for organizing small tools, parts, connectors, and hardware 12. Custom wood console cup holder/organizer.
