1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible406 Tri Power
You are viewing a beautiful restored Galaxie. Purchased in 2009 with the majority of the work done in 2010. 2K miles driven since the drivetrain was rebuilt. Second owner with the car originally being from Tennessee and built in Ohio. The car runs and drives excellent and is a great hiway cruiser.

Body/Paint: The body is all original Ford steel and a very dry car as original. Original floor and trunk pans. The underside of the car was bead blasted and painted. Very nice and presentable. The car was repainted its original color of Raven black single stage. Limited body work was needed. The car is very straight with no dents or dings. Shows very nice. LED head lights. Weather stripping replaced.

Power Top: The top was replaced in 2015 as well as the frame restored. Professional install as original style vinyl and fits very well. Nice and tight.

Interior: The entire interior has been restored to original. Added temp and oil pressure gauges were added. All other original gauges work. Single CD player added mounted in trunk with blue tooth for utilizing a digital stick to play music list. Six speaker system and sounds awesome. Clock and radio rebuilt. Heater works well.

Running Gear: Original engine was a 292 that was disguarded. Replaced with an original Ford era correct 390 block with Ford high rise tri power aluminum manifold. Original restored Holley tri power carbs as well as the air cleaner. The engine was professionally rebuilt, bored and stroked to 416 CI/approx. 400 horse. 428 Scat crank with Ford rods and forged pistons. 270 Comp cam. 9.3 to 1 compression, original restored special tri power distributor with Petronix electronic module, original Ford fuel filter and fuel rail. The engine is as original as if it came from the factory. Tri power 390 was available from Ford in 62 with the tri power intake and carbs in trunk for dealer install. Original restored Carter manual fuel pump with added Holley electric fuel pump mounted by gas tank. Original restored radiator, but altered for better cooling. The car runs cool at normal temp. Transmission is a 3 speed automatic out of a 63 and completely gone through with a 2K stall converter. The rear end is stock to the car and was completely restored with hiway gears, non posi.

Suspension: The frame is in excellent condition and restored. Front suspension is entirely restored by altered to ride lower. The rear springs are original with lowering blocks and air shocks. Gas shocks on the front.

Bright work: Bumpers rechromed, stainless polished, a few original pieces of chrome are original and presentable, but are showing slight signs of wear.

Glass: Side glass is original to the car in great condition. Windshield has been replaced.

Exhaust: Stock Ford exhaust manifolds with 2.5 inch pipes with Flow Master mufflers. Sounds awesome. Just the right amount of lump to the cam.

Brakes: Original drum power assisted brakes all the way around restored. Stops as it should.

Wheels/Tires: Five spoke polished aluminum wheels. Tires are Talon Z rated 235/40 18 front and 255/35 20 rear.

Summary: The car is very presentable and shows well. Great high end driver with a great color combo. Hard to beat black with red interior on any car. Sorted out and ready to be driven and enjoyed by new owner. Full folder of receipts spent on the car with engine specs.
