1928 Ford Model A
This is a very unique Model A that is in absolutely great shape, and has awesome patina. This car has been 98% mechanically restored, runs and drives like an A should. What makes this little roadster stand out to me is the great patina, when I first purchased the car I thought it was maybe original paint, but upon much investigation i determined it was a very old restoration. The only way I determined it was looking at the underside of the car, the floor pans have been repainted from the underside, and the only place where there is any kind of rust (very minimal) is back beneath the rumble lid, their is a flange that is pitted by surface rust, and has the green paint covering it. (I don't have any pics of this, but i may crawl under and snap a pic later) And that is the extent of the rust that I can find in this car. Their is NO blistering of paint that would be evidence of rust beneath paint. This is the cleanest most solid Model A I have ever come across.
I will give the story of this car and this will also detail the work performed. I first discovered this car about 10 years ago in a friends aircraft hangar, where it had been stored for about 20 years. I told him that if he ever wanted to sell it to let me know. About 5 years later he called me and I purchased it. Car had not run in a number of years, but all we did was change fluids, and put a new coil on it, and it fired right up! We drove it around locally and played with it, one day a customer we were building a truck for saw it and inquired about purchasing it, I dodged the question and wasn't too interested in selling it. he pursued me for several months on it, and I finally relented and sold it to him. He had two young children and wanted to use it to drive them around the neighborhood. He owned it for about 4 years and throughout his ownership we did ALOT of service and restoration work to it. The below list is of parts either replaced or rebuilt;RadiatorWater PumpRadiator hosesIgnition systemCarbStarterFuel gaugeComplete overhaul of brakesAxle bearingsTires/Tubes/FlapsRimsConvertible topInteriorRumble area interiorExhaust system
I am sure I am forgetting something else.
He enjoyed his ownership of the A, and finally the children turned 16 and got vehicles of their own and they lost interest in the car, so he called me and asked if I wanted to buy the car or had somebody interested. So I purchased the car back from him. I really enjoy the car, but I don't drive it, so I am a believer that cars should go to another home where they will be enjoyed.
Like I already stated, this car drives and runs and stops very very good, but being an old car, it has a couple things that need addressed in full disclosure. The headlights and horn are not working, I believe they need rewired. That is it. I drive all my car at least every other week, and I can fire this car up and drive it 20 miles on a sunday morning no problems.
I know I will get questions about the body again, so I will reiterate, The body is absolutely solid, the only place where I suspect some filler is in one rear fender tail section, but from the inside it is solid, maybe had a shallow dent that was filled.
This is a great car to keep the patina or an even better candidate to finish the restoration. Reserve is set at a very fair price. I will need a Paypal deposit within 24 hours. The car is also for sale on some other websites and locally so I reserve the right to end the auction. I prefer cash upon pickup of the car but I will work with you. please only bid if you are going to pay. no scammers, I will mess with you as much as you mess with me, you aren't fooling anyone with your poor english and stupid questions.
Thanks!
