Car description |
---|
I am the original owner of this 1986 Mustang GT and have original title and original window sticker in hand.
Oxford white with charcoal gray interior, 89,500 miles. VIN:1FABP28M8GF239705
I ordered this car in January, 1986 and took delivery on April 21, 1986.Factory-installed options:5 speed manual transmission, air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, factory sunroof, rear window defroster, engine block heater, tinted glass and light convenience group.
Included in auction are the original window sticker, owners manual and some work receipts. The car has always been garage kept year-round since newOil changes have always been done every 2000-3000 miles since new (500 mile "break-in" oil change done as well)Stored every winter from November until May. Consequently, this car is rust-free and the underside is super-clean.The car hasn't been driven in rain in 20 years-never driven in snow or when salt was present on roads.OEM replacement Goodyear Eagle Gatorbacks tires have approximately 11,000 miles on themHeater core, hoses, H-pipe, master cylinder have all been replaced in the last 5,000 miles.Besides new converters, the exhaust system is original. .
No one has ever smoked or eaten in this car...the cigarette lighter has never been used. The stainless steel exhaust tips are pristine. The Alpine 7283 radio installed in 1986 still works (cassette deck does not).Included in the auction is the original Ford in-dash cassette radio, rear speakers, sunroof bag and cargo cover.
Interior is in fantastic shape. All seats and passenger area carpet are stain-free. Cargo carpet does have some minor stains. Headliner has some sag present, which is common for cars this age as the foam attached to the liner material breaks down.I will include in the auction a brand-new headliner and cargo area carpet, new in box, purchased recently from Rock Auto.
The car has the original engine, paint, 5 speed shifter and 2.73 rear end. The engine runs great. Everything works as it should except the following: one fog light lens is broken, but is hidden under the Marchal light cover. The A/C will work but there is a leak somewhere in the system. The compressor worked a few years ago when the system re-charged with freon and the air was blowing ice cold. Unfortunately, the person who did the work did not leak check the A/C system and the freon leaked out in a few days.
There are just a couple very minor paint blemishes, but it is about as clean an example 1986 Mustang GT you'll find.
No modifications have been done to the car besides the chrome clip- on mud flaps installed 31 years ago...(no holes drilled) and the removal of the hood sticker done back in 1990.
Please email me with any questions.
